I'd like to introduce you to my German Shepherd, Alexis. She became a family member at 7weeks of age. A dream come true, as I had wanted a German Bred ~ German Shepherd for many years.
Click here to see her pedigree We began taking her to fun matches at the age of 4 months. As Alexis matured, she got very unruly and destructive. She was very intelligent and the little work I was doing with her wasn't enough. Since her entire pedigree is filled with working dogs, we searched for an advanced trainer.
We began to work with a Professional Trainer, Mr. Loren Lorenzo, of Capable K-9. He brought to my attention that Alexis was a good candidate for Search and Rescue work. Alexis is now a certified SAR dog and is happier than she has ever been.... ALWAYS ready to go!
We began working volunteer with our local Police Department Fall of 1999 and have been asked to be on an Ohio Search and Rescue Team, which we gladly accepted to volunteer our time and Alexis' knowledge. We have also been asked to join a large team. Its an honor to be asked, however, Alexis and I would be on call 24/7 and could be gone up to 10 days at a time. There will be more to follow when I decide.
Alexis and I do free lance Search & Rescue work on our own. {Reimbursed expenses will be necessary.} I want families to know there are people willing to help find loved ones without having to face a high price tag. This should be the last worry on their mind!
My husband, Alexis and I will travel Ohio and the bordering states, but these are not definite boundaries. Other states can be discussed. We will try to go where needed within reasonable miles. Why? Time is of the essence when someone is missing!
