This update has been a long time coming! Our apologies to anyone who has been waiting for some new material to appear here. Our home page had been updated to hilite some of our planned activities. Following are some of the things we did accomplish last year due to the growing interest in our group. We had several new members last year, but most have now graduated, so we are looking for some new and enthusiastic members to come join us!! Some other things we have planned are to organize some theme meetings where we can open the floor for discussion on various topics such as "I know someone who is gay", or "gays and religion", "gay marriage" and so on. Our incredible group of students also want to write a few short interactive skits and go into some of the elementary schools to perform for and discuss with the younger grades attitudes and facts about homosexuality. We may also try to revive the very successful rainbow sticker campaign. Another exciting idea is to plan a mini film festival of queer topics. We hope it will be big and popular enough to do in the auditorium so we can feel like we are actually in the theatre! We will continue to put CHAT facts of the week into the student and staff bulletin. And an attempt will be made to keep this website a little more up to date! CHAT can be contacted at any time through email: gsa_chat@yahoo.com or ms_rieder@yahoo.ca You can also post messages on our bulletin board (access the message board link on the left hand side of the page. The sponsors are also in and out and around the school. Stop by to see any of us: Mr. Alyward, Mrs. Furness, Ms. O, and/or Ms. Rieder Have a great day! |
