Shadow Walkers
The Dava'irim, or Shadow Walkers, are hardly if ever seen or heard from, remaining hidden in the forests keeping a constant watch on the land, and any who enter it. The Dava'irim probably posses the most wide range of skills and duties within the Guild. Subterfuge and deceit cloak the Dava'irim as the shadows cloak the night. If the task requires the grace of the shadows themselves, then then Dava'irim are the ones to turn to.
The Dava'irim are the Sentinel's spies and informants. They do everything for the Guild from tracking and scouting, to spying and assasinations. Expert infiltrators and thieves, a Shadow Walker can get anywhere and anything with out being seen or heard, and noticed only after they have long passed. The Dava'irim like most Night Elves are peaceful in nature, but don't usually have the time to be that way. They have a constant watch over the woods and forests that they are bound to protect.
Dava'irim Lore
During the War of the Ancients, a select group of devout Night Elven warriors made a sacrifice for their people. They approached Illidan, a High Born mage and the first Demon Hunter and asked him to use magic to bond them to their natural element, Shadow. Forever accepting the burden of magic's addiction, they honed their new powers over Elune's shadows. Calling it the Shadow-Craft, the Dava'irim became the assasins of the night, strking with deadly accuracy and speed.
The Dava'irim can travel through Shadow with an uncanny speed, outsiders who have seen them Shadow Walj believe they are at many places at once. They can manipulate Shadow as if it were tangible mass, creating illusions or making the shadows of the night envelop their enemies in a blinding darkness. Dava'irim can also see in the darkest shadow as if it were daylight.
When the war ended, the Dava'irim believed their sacrifice to have been a just one, and thought themselves rewarded with freedom from magic, since the Well of Eternity was destroyed. But to their dismay Illidan had betrayed them all and created a new Well. They all felt the call of magic, but since none were High Born mages, the addiction had a weaker hold on them, they never really knew the embrace of magic, and as such, it did not hold as strong an addiction over them as it did the High Elves, they could ignore it, but not forever.
For many years in the aftermath of the War of the Ancients, the Night Elves tirelessly rebuilt their culture. The Dragons that had survived came forth to aid the vigilant Kaldorei. Alexstrasza the red, Ysera the green, and Nozdormu the bronze descended upon the Druid's tranquil glades and surveyed the fruits of the Night Elves' labors. The great Dragons were allarmed to hear the dark news about the new Well and speculated that as long as the Well remained, the Legion might one day return and assult the world once again. The Dragons and Kaldorei made a pact that day.
Alexstrasza, the Life-Giver, placed a single, enchanted acron within the heart of the Well of Eternity. The acron, activated by the potent, magical waters, sprung to life as a colossal tree. The immsense tree would be an everlasting symbol of the Night Elves' bond with nature, and its life-giving energies would extend out to heal the rest of the world over time.
Nozdormu, the Timeless, placed an enchantment upon the World Tree that ensured that as long as the colossal tree stood, the Night Elves would never age or fall prey to sickness or disease.
Ysera, the Dreamer, also placed an enchantment upon the World Tree by linking it to her own realm, the ethereal dimension known as the Emerald Dream. From within this dream, Ysera regulated the ebb and flow of nature, and as part of the pact, the Druids would sleep for thousands of years at a time and walk this dream to watch over nature as well.
Unknown by most, the Dava'irim, with Furion's permission, approached the black dragon, **, and made a new pact. ** watched over a dream world of her own, called the Dark Dream, from here, she watched over the Nightmares of the inhabitants of Azeroth, and ensured that none of these Nightmares could ever enter the physical world, for most of these Nightmares were agents of the Burning Legion. ** felt that the sacrifice of the Dava'irim was a great one, knowing that they would fall prey to magic's addiction, so she agreed to the pact. The Dava'irim would assist her in guarding the Nightmares of the Dark Dream, hunting them down one by one, ensuring they could not escape the Dark Dream. Once giving themselves over to an endless sleep of nightmares, ** would be able to influence their sleeping bodies and seep out the addictions of magic, the longer a Dava'irim sleeps, the weaker the addiction grows.
Over the course of time, the Dava'irim would awake and assist the Taurea'irim in the defense of their homelands, and as the sickening addictions grew in them, they would return to the Dark Dream. Not all of the Dava'irim were as strong though, some fell prey to the addiction, or refused to sleep, thus becoming traitors to the Dava'irim and their virtues. Some of these traitors still exist, most have been hunted down by the Dava'irim and killed.
Ranking
The Dava'irim ranks are filled with the most deadly of the Night Elves to ever live. Prefering to attack from the shadows rather than in direct combat, the Shadow Walkers are a force to be reckoned with. They are lead by the elusive Shadowdancer, Umbra Na'alira, whom is also a member of the Triad council. She is served by her Morier (Dark One), Beleniel Elensar, one of the craftiest and deadliest Huntresses to walk Elune's Shadows. Beleniel oversees the movements and actions of the Dinaer of Nordrassil (Silent Ones), and the Uial Ndgen'arie of Ashenvale Forest (Twilight Killers). The Dava (Shadow) Osiris leads the Dinear, and the Dava Ndgen'arie (Shadow Killer) Englor Kethomil leads the Uial Ndgen'arie.
Guardianship
Umbra Na'alira in agreement with the Triad guards over the hidden places and shadows of the forests, Ashenvale, and Nordrassil. Since the Burning Legion has been fought back a second time, the Night Elves have decided that their territories would be safer if each of the three Triad members guarded over certain areas, to keep a closer watch and defense on them. Even so, it is not uncommon to see the Night Elves outside of their lands, or see Dava'irim in parties with parties of Ithil'maska'irim or Taurea'irim.
Accepted Classes
Any class may join the Shadow Walkers. As anyone can be stealthy and subversive.
Rogues are the primary class of the Shadow Walkers, as they posses all of the skills that most benefit an assasin/spy. Hunters are a close second, as they are expert trackers and scouts. Priests and Druids can be Dava'irim as well, but cannot match the skills of a Rogue or Hunter. Druids of the Talon, whom serve the goddess Aviana, the Lady Raven, make excelent Shadow Walkers, as they specialize in the skills that most benefit the Dava'irim. Warriors can be Dava'irim but do not have alot of the necessary skills required. class selection does not effect ranking to any of the Shadow Walker ranks, as that is based on the person, not their profession.
How to join the Taurea'irim
To join the Glade Walkers, you can be of any class. Post on the Forums in the Join Here topic in the General Guild Discussion forum, supply the required applicant information and list Dava'irim as your requested Guild Division.
