24 hr SKILLS |
NEWBIES GUIDE 24 Hour Games are bound to be difficult first time out, when everything is new and you are in at the deep end. You are bound to make mistakes and that is how you will learn. Being shot, is not a loss of face and, is just part of the game. It is important to think this way, if you are to progress. In order to SUCCEED in this Extreme Sport, you will need to use many different tactics and skills. Many of which will take time to develop as they can often never be mastered, due to the nature of the game. Keep morale up, this is important and something an experianced Airsofter needs too. Sometimes, when you have just been shot up alot, keeping a clear head and positive attitude will help you survive the game. As this is an Extreme Sport, the highs are high but the lows are low. Just remember that cheating will never let you progress and the main person that will be cheated will be yourself. This is no game for people with no Sportsmanship. Remember these Basic Guidelines: 1) Stick with your team mates. By yourself you're a goner... 2) Take your time to look for hidden Opponents. Keep Still. 3) Even when you think no-one is about, get into cover. 4) Stop and listen for movement, while resting. 5) Communicate with the team, as quietly as possible. 6) If you hear firing, then hit the dirt immediatly, find cover. 7) Make sure your gun is set to AUTO at all times. 8) Keep your clockwork magazine fully wound up after firing. 9) Reload, before your mag is empty to save winding it up. 10) Remember not getting hit, is your main objective. 11) Always have a snack on you and a small drink bottle too. 12) Keep an eye on your own health, drink plenty of fluids. 13) If your clothing is not waterproof, avoid getting sodden. 14) Should the weather close in, get in your shelter if possible 15) If you are too cold, get into your sleeping bag. 16) Should you be shot, move off immediatly to the Tag zone. 17) Once back in the game, rejoin your team ASAP. 18) Check your target before firing, it could be friendly. 19) Let your target get as close as possible before opening up. 20) Don't go mad on full auto, use controlled bursts. 21) Crawling is more effective than you may first think. 22) Choose hard cover wherever possible, rather than foliage. 23) Don't run away in a Firefight if you are at close quarters. 24) If you want to move, run quickly no further than 15m 25) Never risk injury or damage to your gun to "get away". 26) Should your goggles steam up and you wish to demist, then only remove them if out of range and crouched down in cover facing away from opponents. 27) If you get injured or your sleeping bag gets wet or you are too cold inside it, then you will have to stop play and return to the SAFE ZONE. 28) Remember it is just a game and the idea is to have fun. Don't get cross or lose your rag. Just remember to smile. |
