Guy Meyrav was born in Tel-Aviv  in June 1966.  He was raised and lived there until his tragic death, while surfing at the Tel-Aviv Hilton Sea shore.

Guy acquired his passion for  wave surfing   while visiting Durban, South Africa. at the age of 13 during an international surfing competition with such champions as Sayne Horane, "Rabbit" Bartholomew and others.

Since then and until his last day, he devoted most of his life to this beautiful sport, aspiring to achieve the highest degree of excellence, mesmerized by the love of the sea and its waves. When Guy started surfing in Tel-Aviv's sea shore, the sport was almost unknown and unpracticed.  It can be said with certainty that Guy's enthusiasm and performance influenced the thousands of surfing fans to catch the  waves all over the Israeli sea shore.

This passion brought him to Hawaii's famous North Shore with its unbelievably high waves, where he spent almost a year,  and from there to the shores of Bali,  Indonesia,  Long Beach,  California, the Bay of Biscayne,  and France.  Last year he was in  Cabo San Lucas and  Baja California, Mexico. He was among the very few still surfing at his age and served as a model to the numerous fans. Through his very unique lifestyle, he succeeded in combining  his love of the sea with his work.

His work consisted in taking care and accompanying hard case war invalids, helping them in  their retraining and rehabilitation. By living amongst them,  day and night,  he succeeded in transmitting to his handicapped patients his zest of life and his cheerfulness.  He also spent some of his time, volunteering to train kids in the surfing sport.  His love of  kids combined with his passion for the sea made this a great success. A few weeks before his demise, he graduated in Schiatsu therapy with flying colors and looked forward to excel in this new field.

Guy was married in May 1998 to his 3 years girl friend Orly, and moved to an apartment facing the sea, next to the Tel-Aviv Hilton Sea shore, so he could watch every day the "waves" situation and act accordingly. This was his "second" home and at this shore, he found his premature and tragic end.

Upon his death, his family and wife decided to donate his organs, saving the lives of 4 adults and the sight of 2  teenagers. There is no doubt that this would have been the wish of this handsome, pure hearted young man,  a human lover  who dedicated his short life caring for others.

His memory is fresh and alive with his wife, father, mother and his sister Dana.

He will never be forgotten!
