Max sat beside Liz trying to concentrate on the movie, but all he could think about was what happened in the car with Maria. He couldn't believe how two best friends could go from doing everything together and end up avoiding one another. The worst part was, it wasn't as if they were avoiding each other, she was avoiding him!
Max looked down the aisle of chairs to see Maria's head resting on Micheal's, and felt a pang of jealousy. He should be there with her, her head should be lying on his shoulder. Max looked over at Liz, whose hands were entwined with his. God! What was he thinking??He was here with one girl and thinking about her best friend! He shook his head slightly, and turned to see Liz smile at him. He smiled at her, what the hell was wrong with him?

Maria sat on her bed and took off her shoes. She was so tired. Lately that had been the case a lot. She couldn't understand it. She had fallen asleep in the theatres on Micheal's shoulder. She hoped he didn't think she was obsessed about him again. She knew better now, it wasn't that Micheal didn't want to stop pushing her away, it was that he couldn't stop that's just the way he is and always will be. She thought of what happened in the car with Max before the movie, she had tweaked on him but he had deserved it ! But she refused to think of him, he was part of her past now, and she would never have to deal with him again.

Isabel lay next to Alex on his bed. "Tonight was fun wasn't it?" She looked over at Alex , who lay with his hands behind his head staring up at the ceiling.
Alex glanced over at her, "Yeah, I guess."
Isabel thought for a moment. "There seemed like there was a lot of tension though, especially when Max and Maria came , don't you think?"
Alex turned to Isabel. He wished he could tell her, but it wasn't his right to tell it. How could he explain that the reason those two were so tense was because they had slept together. Especially now that Max was seeing Liz again. Which was something Alex couldn't figure out either.
"Nah, you were probably just imagining it." He turned to her and gathered her in his arms, her back against his chest.
Isabel didn't think she was imagining it, she had seen the way Maria had avoided Max in the theatre. They had been the best of friends, she wondered what happened? They never talked on the phone anymore, actually she hadn't seen them talk in the last couple of months.
Oh well, all friends had fights, she'd just ask Max about it later. She snuggled in next to Alex. "Yeah I guess so."
Alex hoped he didn't have to lie to her much longer, cause he didn't think he would be able to. He buried his face in her hair and fell asleep.

Tess sat with Kyle on the couch watching TV, well she was watching TV but Kyle had already fallen asleep, in a very ungraceful position. She smiled at him and kissed his forehead gently as she got up to take their dishes into the sink before going to bed.
As she was washing the dishes, she remembered Maria's exhausted look in the theatre. It was weird, Maria was always sleeping, even more than usual, and she looked thinner. Tess was worried about her, she looked sick and knowing Maria she would pass it off as nothing, but Tess didn't think it was nothing. She finished washing the dishes and walked by Maria's room on her way to the living room. She paused in front of the door, and before she could change her mind she opened the door and stepped inside.
Tess stepped into the darkened room, and walked over to the bed. She knew she should wait until Maria woke up and asked her permission, but then Maria would have the chance to say no, and she wanted to find out for herself if Maria was ok. She carefully ran her hand slowly down Maria's body , starting at the head. As she moved her hand further down she heard a strange thumping noise. She frowned, that was weird. She continued down and drew a huge gasp she quickly removed her hand and ran out of the room closing the door behind her quietly.
Tess leaned against Maria's door and tried to draw a breath but couldn't. She couldn't believe what she'd just seen. Oh God!
