Isabel tiptoed into Max's room and walked over to the bed. She smiled he always slept just like a baby. She gently pushed his shoulder. She frowned when she saw that he wasn't waking up, he had always been a light sleeper. She reached to push him again...
"BOO!"
Isabel jumped back, her hand flying to her chest.
Max laughed and sat up as he saw Isabel jumped back. That's what she got for waking him up, when it had taken him forever to fall asleep.
Isabel hopped on the bed and punched him in the arm. "Jerk!" She smiled and leaned against the wall with her knees pulled up.
Max smiled at Iz and turned in the bed to face her. "What's up?"
"I don't know you tell me?" she asked. She had decided to take the subtle approach to this situation.
Max frowned. "Nothing, what do you mean?" Alex couldn't have told her, could he?
"I mean what's up with you and Maria?" She tried to read his expression but it was like he had blocked himself off. His face had become suspiciously blank.
"Nothing, why?" He knew that she didn't know anything, but he didn't want her to get any ideas.
"Well, at the movies last night, you guys seemed kind of distant. She looked like she was avoiding you or something."
"Nothing's wrong, Izzy, now let me go back to sleep." He turned to lie back down. What if she found out? No, that won't happen. Think positive thoughts Maxwell.
Izzy got up and stood by the end of the bed. "Well, how come you guys haven't talked in the last...4 months and she was avoiding you at..."
Max put the pillow over his head. "Izzy, there's nothing wrong, now go 'cause I wanna sleep. Now good...day!"
Isabel would have smiled if she didn't think something fishy was going on. Maybe she should just leave it alone. She slowly turned around and walked out.

Kyle grunted. Damn! How could a piece of wood be this heavy? He had agreed to help Alex put up a desk in his room today. He would have said no if he knew that he had to wake up at 8 am. It was 11 , that meant that they'd been working for 3 hours. Well not really, they had taken two 45 min breaks, but who's counting?
Alex plopped down on his bed, and wiped the sweat of his brow. This was the last piece of wood they had to bring in , but they hadn't even started putting the desk together. Maybe they should take a break...yeah that was a good idea.
Kyle and Alex walked to the kitchen and popped open two cokes.
Kyle swiveled in his chair, "So how are things with you and Isabel??"
Alex looked up, "Good. How 'bout you and Tess, everything alright?"
"Yeah, but she's been buggin' me about Maria lately."
Alex's head shot up. "What about Maria? Is something wrong?"
"Nah, It's just that...you've noticed how distant Maria has become with everyone, right? Well Tess thinks she's sick and trying to hide it." Kyle thought it was true that Maria had been distant for awhile, but everyone needs to be by themselves sometimes.
Alex's heart began to beat again. He thought Tess knew, but thank God she didn't. "Yeah well, maybe she's just busy or something, you know how Maria's moods are. I mean...she's your sister!" But Alex had noticed Maria's loss in weight, too, and the constant bags under her eyes. He hated Max sometimes, but then had to remind himself that Max was just as confused if not more.
Kyle didn't like to admit it but he was worried about her, too. Ever since they had become siblings they had developed a bond, and they confided in each other. But all 'Ria ever did anymore was go to work and then come home and sleep. And it wasn't as if she was anorexic, 'cause she'd been eating a lot lately, and he never heard her throw up. Well except for that one time, but that was only once.
" Yeah she is really moody, even more than usual. Whatever I'm sure she's fine." Kyle tried to reassure himself as well as Alex.
Alex stared out the window and drank his Coke. "Yeah." But Alex had already decided to talk to her later, when he got the chance.
He slung his arm around Kyle. "C'mon bro, we've got a desk to make!"

Tess sat in the kitchen sipping her tea. She hadn't slept all night. She was still in shock, she just couldn't believe what she had seen. It wasn't even possible. She jumped down of the stool and stepped out of the kitchen and into the living room.
Maria walked intothe living room in her PJ's. She had just woken up and it was 2 pm already. She had taken the day off, and thank God she had, she didn't know why she was so tired. She saw Tess sitting in the living room staring off into space.
"Hey Tess, whatcha doing?"
Tess jumped. She looked and saw Maria. God! She didn't even know what to say to her. "H...Hey."
Maria frowned and sat on the couch beside her. "What's up? You seem weirded out or something."
Tess turned toward Maria, not having any idea how she was going to bring it up. "I'm...I'm just recovering."
"From what?"
Tess took in a breath slowly. "Last night I went into your room when you were sleeping, and I, I tried to heal you."
Maria frowned. Why would Tess do that? She wasn't even sick. And she never even asked. Maria stood up. "You know, I really hate the fact that you came into my room and tried to do something that I never allowed you to do. And the worst part is that I'm not even sick!"
Maria was pissed. Tess could tell , but it didn't seem like she even knew about her condition just as Tess had suspected, which made this even harder. "I know I should have asked and I'm sorry, but no your not sick, you're..."
Maria rolled her eyes. "Thanks, but I know that I'm not sick, and I really resent you even invading my privacy like that!" She couldn't believe this. What scared her was that Liz said whenever Max healed her he saw flashes. What if Tess had seen something she wasn't supposed to?
Maria hesitated before asking, "Did you see anything?"
"No, but..." This was getting harder by the minute but Tess knew she had to tell her.
Maria had stood up now. She didn't want to stay home. She was too upset. "But WHAT?"
Tess sat quietly for a moment. "But...You're pregnant."
