Quotes
I never
forget my wife's birthday. It's usually the day after she reminds me about it.
When I have a
birthday I take the day off. But when my wife has a birthday, she takes a year
or two off.
Birthdays,
humph.... My folks were so poor we couldn't give my sister a sweet 16 party
until she was 28.
On my 60th
birthday my wife gave me a superb birthday present. She let me win an argument.
A well
adjusted woman is one who not only knows what she wants for her birthday, but
even knows what she's going to exchange it for.
We know when
we're getting old when the only thing we want for our birthday is not to be
reminded of it.
It's so sad
to grow old alone. My wife hasn't had a birthday in 4 years. She was born in the
year of our Lord-only-knows.
By the time
the last candle was lit on her birthday cake
in
February, the first one had gone out. If she ever told her real age her birthday
cake would be a fire hazard. When it was fully lit it looked like a prairie
fire.

What is is about the word "Love"? When ever it is spoken,
hearts start to pound, and a warmth surrounds us. Here are some of my favorite
quotes spoken in and about love. May they warm your heart as they do mine.
"And in
my Heart, A Temple for you will always stand."
--Ray Garraty
"You
will always be welcome in my mind, Love, for you are in my heart."
--Ray Garraty
Love in the
past is only a memory.
Love in the
future is a fantasy.
Only here and
now can we truly love.
--Buddha
Miracles
occur naturally as expressions of love.
The real
miracle is the love that inspires them.
In this sense
everything that comes from
love is a
miracle.
How sad it is
that we find ourselves in a position where we must shield and shelter our own
hearts, for what is it that makes life worth living if it is not the heart’s
full expression? What is life without love? If we have been hurt, used,
manipulated or betrayed we tend to shield the heart. We place it in a glass box
like an ancient museum artifact where it may be seen but not touched, fearing
the touch will break it again. In this we err. Leave a door in that wall. All of
life’s efforts are for naught and as blowing dust if their reward does not
find a place in the arms of love. If a life is lived in the absence of love,
that life is empty and it’s accomplishments mean nothing. Deny not the heart
and love will come to it as surely as spring will bring the blossom.
--Phoenix
There is no
greater love than the love
that holds on
when there seems
nothing left
to hold on to.

The night has
a thousand eyes,

The mind has
a thousand eyes,
And the heart
but one;
Yet the light
of a whole life dies,
When love is
done.
