Statement |
My drive as a filmmaker is storytelling. I spend most of my pre-production time writing. I always wanted to be a writer, but at some point in my past the visual hold of film captured me and never let go. My process is simple: I see stories in my head, I put them to paper and after a while I tell them again, visually. A character's motivation for living is my greatest influence, and I try to connect with the characters first before I delve deeper into the conflict. |

My work to date has been mostly straight-forward narrative with experimental elements. I enjoy hard-boiled and "hard" science-fiction, whether it be in fiction, music, or films. I try to incorporate thinking and ideas into my films. I want the audience to apply themselves to my stories, to work out the plots for their own benefit, in the end to pull something of value into their lives. |

I'm inspired by visions of the future, the nostalgia of the past, and the grittiness of the present. All of these eras have stories to tell. |
