Statement

My drive as a filmmaker is storytelling. I spend most of my pre-production time writing. I always wanted to be a writer, but at some point in my past the visual hold of film captured me and never let go.  My process is simple: I see stories in my head, I put them to paper and after a while I tell them again, visually. A character's motivation for living is my greatest influence, and I try to connect with the characters first before I delve deeper into the conflict.

My work to date has been mostly straight-forward narrative with experimental elements.  I enjoy hard-boiled and "hard" science-fiction, whether it be in fiction, music, or films.  I try to incorporate thinking and ideas into my films.  I want the audience to apply themselves to my stories, to work out the plots for their own benefit, in the end to pull something of value into their lives.

I'm inspired by visions of the future, the nostalgia of the past, and the grittiness of the present.  All of these eras have stories to tell.
