DAY 1
-Basic instructions and foundational skills
-file management
-We also learned how to save a file
-This includes three different sources of saving methods
1: Saving your file on the desktop
2: Saving your file on to a floppy disk
3: Saving your file on to your personal email address
Method number three will give you access to your file whenever you want it on any computer
DAY 2
-Making a screen name on yahoo.com and making a website on oocities.com
-Making the screen name helped us discover the advantages that you could have on yahoo
-This includes a free build your own website
DAY 3
-Powerpoint Introduction
-The powerpoint introduction helped us organize the information that we gather
-and present that information in a rather interesting way
-I'm sure that I'll use this information in the future for not only this class
-but for many other classes as well
DAY 4
-Scavenger hunt dealing with possible research topics
-Suppose to apply research topics on to a powerpoint presentation
-The scavenger hunt helped us ecplore the internet as well in powerpoint
-We also learned how to move from one place to another using the alt-tab keys
DAY 5
-PPT presentation on Comma Usage
-Performed by Mr. Howard and Mr. Johnson
-Evaluation on PPT presentation given by Dr. Hobby
-Presentation Rubric handed out
-Today I've learned that I wouldn't add many sounds into a powerpoint presentation

DAY 7

Today was a rather interesting day. In the general class period we talked about the different ways our journals should look. I thought that today was really important simply becuase of the future. Now I know how to write a perfect journal entry and I should be wrinting one form this day on. Lately I've been trying to come up with the different amount of formats that the journal entry may be posted on the web. This is why my journal entry has been a little general then ususal. From now on I will try to make it more descriptive. We also saw a couple of examples of research journals. I made a few positive notes and they are listed below:
1: Try to make your journal more descriptive
2: Include your own voice into the journals when your writing
3: If possible upload a couple of different colors and fonts into your journal
-this would make your journal rather interesting
4: Don't bore the reader by adding words that you would'nt normally use in your everyday speech
-I also noted some negative notes as well

Today we saw a great presentation involving Jenn and Dylan. We also had to listen to a lecture given by Dr. Hobby about websites. We fooled around alot today with the websites. I believe that it helped many students today with their websites. Many people had questions that were finally asnwered about their website. I like the way the presentation was made today. I learned a little bit about page wizard and page builder.

Today we made an annitated bibliography. Now I know what is to be graded in the bibliography. This made it so much easier for us to work. The language of the book goes like this Superior, Above Average, Satisfactory. MLA form is a big thing. If the paper is not in MLA form then Dr. Hobby will not even read it.

Today we researched the internet. We didn't have a presentation scheduled but we explored the internet. I learned many things incuding the following:
1.) How to simply put a word document on the internet
2.) How to put up a acrobat reader onto your page
Both of these will help me alot in the future. Especially uploading a word document. It would make my life alot easier.

I believe that that today was a very important day. We had discussed the conflicts as to whether or not a site is trustworthy or not. One of the examples that was brought up by Jason in our class was whether or not CNN is trustworthy. The whole class went on and on. Accoriding to my opinion many people were lost. It seemed like we were waisting time but we really weren't. Today we had distinguished the difference. After the long debate over that issue, now I know what sites to trust or not. It sounds weird why we can't trust CNN or not. But if you look at the details then you can clearly see that we that we can't. They are just informing the public. Those authors of those articles don't know what they're talking about becuase all they do is inform. They're just informing the public (in other words informing as an entertainment / interest source).

Today we were at the Sonken building. We started reading "Great Expectations." It started off pretty good (opinion)

Today we learned things on how to search in the library. I finally learned how to use the Nova Cat Library on the internet. It should be able to help me out alot in the future. We also leanrd the Fact, Opinion, and Belief statement. It created many debates throughout the classroom. Most of the debates were Class vs. Hobby. A Fact can be proven, it's observable, and it can be tested by scientific methods. A Belief is a feeling and it deals with the precision of how you fell the world is like. It may also deal with certain impressions. A big issue of how you belief something is the way or habitual you have been raised. It may be also called as one's ideology (or belief). A opinion is personal about the way you think the something is. It's the way you interpret something.

Today we had a beautiful presentation by Laurel Weiner. Unfortunately we didn't give her any support behind it so we paid the price. We had a pop quiz on the book. For those people who hadn't read the book yet, they were (unformally) screwed.

We basically learned what a research paper is not. The following are some of the details that we talked about:

I basically put together the information I gathered and printed it out. I believe that I have about 28 pages of work. Today was the first day I actually played around with the organizing a paragraph link. So far it helped me out with my introduction paragraph.

My research pack was completed today. I continued working on my annotations which will help me to get ahead on it before its due. I worked on my body paragraph. I didn't really get far but I constructed about 2 paragraphs.

Today the research journals were do and everybody was trying to fix them as soon as possible. Many people beame scared beause some other people had a very dteailed research journal an they didn't. Today Dr. Hobby also posted all of our sites onto his site. Many of te sites were looking good, they just needed a little touch up just like mine does.

Today we basically wrote the whole entire class. There wasn't any talking or anything like that. The whole calss was dead silent. I created my strong introduction today. It took me a little while to come up with a strong thesis statement, but it was worth the result.

We learned how to cite on a paper today. It was really easy even though the explanation took very long. The reason why it seemed boring to me was simply becuase that I had already knew how to paraphrase onto my research paper. Then again it refreshed my memory on it so I really have nothing to complain about.

Today I learned how to incorporate quotations. It was a big help. I really learned alot today and I know that for a fact this will help me out alot on my research paper. I get pretty confused sometimes when talking about quotations. The presentation today will really effect my reseach paper. I also worked on the body paragraph of my paper. I believed I have done very well up to where I was at. I think that when my paper is fully completed it will come out really good. I showed Dr. Hobby what I had so far and he liked it. He had given me some suggestions and I followed them as well. They were mostly about the quotations so I fixed them up after.

-Today we reviewed over the many different types o transitional phrases we can use on our paper. I never knoew that there was that many. It's going to help me on many parts of my paragraphs. When I need a transitional phrase I know where to get them from - In my notes

Today our annotated bibliography was due today. For me I was up to date with everything. I really didn't post it up on my website but I have everything thing else there. I plan to post it up later. The main reason why I disn't is that my web space was running really low. I'm trying to delete all the unnecessary things that really just sit there.

Today we really didn't accomplish anything special. We wrked a little bit on our papers but I wasn working on my website. I look at the format and it's consecutively changiing. For some reason 'm not happy with the formats that I come up with. Let's see what I cancome up with tomorrow

Today the whole class worked but I was working on my page. I finished the conclusion part of my paper. Since I had much time left, I decided that I would work on my website. I changed a lot of the things. I also changed the entire format of my page. I like it but I still need to do work on it.Hopefully later I can come up with something.

Today D. Hobby gae us alecture on what we should be experiencing the next trimester. He included that this term is not going to be so easy. Since we know a lot about the computers now, we should'nt have many technical problems. We learned this ases of learning so we should be ready to incorporate it.

Once again today I was working on my web page. Manypeople had given me suggestions to put back the mouse scrollers, but for sme reason I believed that this seemed unprofessional. I'm going to see what else I can change from different things. I still havn't added my annotations yet so I still don't have enough space for it. I should have some space soon.

Today we went over everybody's paper on turnitin.com. It was interesting that turn it in is known for catching plagarism. But it totally does the opposite. All it really does is check its websites that it has contained and brings on text that may look alike. It acually helped me out find some good sites. I basically used it as a search engine sometimes. Today there was a presentation on time management. The presentation included some very hintful tips as of how you should organize your time. Time has really been confusing. Time managing is actually wha really bothers me about time. This presentaion helped me out as of what to do first and what to do second. I've had a couple of problems about organizing time but overall I'm not that bad. If I was a teacher and if I was to give a grade to myself about time management I would give myseld a B. Hopefully this presentation helps m achieve as high of a standard so that I can grade myself as an A.

Today he basically went over the book review projects. He explained us what we have to do for the book review. I hav'nt mentioned it but my book was "Guts and Glory: Making it In the NBA." It was by Ken Rappaport.

I found tat today was pretty fun. Dr. Hobby didn't show up till tat last 15 minutes of class. I was responsible and I worked on my book review, and I also made some additional changes on my webpage.

Today was the day where I really popped in. He told us that we were best off buying the twn dollar additional space on to to our websites. I agreed with them, I figured that ten dollars wouldn't be that much, the problem was the payment was needed to be given every month. This wasn't an option for me. I really deleted a lot of what was on my web page that wasn't being used. This really helped me add some upadated material.

Today we meet in the library and we really did some helpful things. Even though we didn't have a lot of time to operate, we still would end up completin more in the library, then in the normal classroom.

There were individual book prsentations given by many of the students. I learned a lot about many books. I did't get a chance to present my book, but I hoped to present it the next class.

Today we continued with the presentation. Many people went today who didn't go yesterday. Justin's presentation was one by far the best and most funnies presentation I've ever seen.

Today Dr. Hobby introduced the beginning of our Final Exam. He had included that there was about 150 vocabulary words that we needed to know in order to complete the final exam. I'm getting really scard beause I don' really know how I'm going to do in the final exam. Dr. hobby said not to worry. He said that is we study, we'll do just fine.

Todyay we worked on our Julius Caesar Presenations. This is going to help us understand Julius Caesar itself.

Today, each of the groups were assigned a character. Throughout the whole play, we have to watch this character, and observe every move of this charcter. We have to take notes, so that I believe at the end, we'll have to prepare a presentation for our Character.

Dr. Hobby couldn't come to class today and we had a substitute. She didn't know how to work the DVD so I was told that I was suppose to help her. I turned it on, but since Dr. Hobby wasn't here nobody seemed to pay attention. Things really get messed up when Dr. Hobby isn't here. It doesn't matter, I watched for about 30 minutes, then it just seemed that there was no poit in watching it.

Today everybody presented. Meaning the different groups. It was told by Dr. Hobby that the best presentation, will earn a trip to the cafe during class. Fortunately, everybody's group did a wonderful job, so we all went to the cafe as a class. It was okay even though I believe that Justin's groups should've gone. Everybody's presentation was really good, but it wasn't as funny as Justn's. It's okay atleast we went. Even though we din't get to present today.

Everyone was suppose to do go to the cafe today but we went during break. Hobby once again broke his promise as to oing during class. It was'nt really no biggy. I only say this becuase I need an A in his class. Other then that it was a violence commited to humanity. Anyways, We got to do half our presentation and we were rudely interupted by the clock which said that it was time to goto the next class.

We really didn't do anything productive for this class period. All that was really due today was Chapter 13 in the Vocabulary book.

Today Hobby introduced the questions for Julius Caesar. They din't really seem that hard. I didn't start on it, but I plan to really soon since they're due on next thurssay, including the website.

Today we basically had a quiz on chapter 12 and 13. After the quiz, we worked on our questions. I personally worked on the finishing touches to my website. I changed the whole format, I finally kind of like it. Hopefully I can get it uploaded before thursday.
