Boy, for a movie with the words "CITY OF THE DEAD" in the title, this thing sure didn't seem to be much of a metropolis of zombies or anything... Well, not the first time I've been suckered into renting a movie due to it's title. This one starts in 1686 New Amsterdam, where a witch passes off some dirty dancing as a voodoo ritual, slits a woman's throat, then gets stabbed with a cross, vowing revenge... 200 years down the road, she returns to 1980's NYC, dressed in a "punker biker slut" motif, looking for her magic ring. Some Afro-American preacher guy has the ring, and the witch lets a bunch of OMEGA MAN rejects on Satan's payroll suckle on her 6 titties... What it as to do with the story isn't really relevant, but who cares! While attempting to perform some "ritual of eternal life", the reverand and a cop slaughter her and the Good Time Gang with some homemade crosses and some pyro. But, the hand survives and possesses the young woman who was to be used as the sacrifice. Oh, she's also the cop's new girlfriend... but, no one cares, so I'm gonna go play SHADOWMAN on my Nintendo 64... goodbye.
