A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors

(1987)

Wahoo! Elm Street # 3! just two more to go ! JOY! Ok, it seems that Freddy's up to his old tricks again, this time terrorizing a group of wacky teenagers at an asylum. Yes, as if I didn't watch enough movies centered around asylums, here's another for the books. We see Cowboy Curtis himself, Lawrence Fishburn, as an orderly and that chicky who played Nancy in the original "Elm St." as an intern (wonder how she likes her cigars). One of the kiddies can pull others into her dreams, and does so to combat Fred and his evil games. Some Bill Mahr look-a-like gets "Politically Correct" with Nancy and helps her father with the cliched "worn out cop battling his/her alcohol problem" scenario. As usual, the kids are mostly too weak to defeat Freddy, (though many survive) and get their asses handed to them on blood stained platters. We see the classic "human marionette (puppet for the "uncultured")", "Freddy doll", and "Freddy-vision" scenes as well as his baptism and the story of his conception (a nun is raped, and he becomes "the bastard son of a hundred maniacs"). This movie has the best FX of the series so far, and has some crazy shit, so it's one of the better of them. Oh yeah, if he asks, you better tell Freddy where the fuckin' bourbon is, or he might just cut your mom's head off!
