Night of the Demons 3

(1997)

Third in the series of NIGHT OF THE DEMONS movies, this installment sees the return of Amelia Kinkade as our demon with the sinful perversions, Angela! Wow, all three movies she's played Angela! She's either really dedicated to the series and the character, or she's REALLY hurting for work. Twenty bucks and my "Weird Al" Yankovic autographed copy of UHF say it's the second reason... We open with a po-leece man on patrol at ye olde Hull House. Here he bumps into the goth babe Angela, who, despite obviously getting on in years would still look mighty fine bouncing up and down in my lap. He is soon dispatched, courtesy of Angela, who wields the pig's badge like a throwing star, planting it a couple inches into his face! And I thought I liked watching my babe Angela kill door-to-door religious freaks in NIGHT OF THE DEMONS 2, I worship her now! Besides the cop, our group of teenage victims this time around consists of a rag tag gang of high school kids who get diverted from their plans to attend the Halloween costume dance. The diversion? Well, while attempting to rob a convenience store, one of their pals gets shot, and another one of the punks shoots a cop! If they get caught, they're basically fucked. So, instead of giving themselves up to the authorities and spending a life sentence in the peaceful and anally painful environment of prison, they instead go for the more immediate and permanent punishment, when they seek refuge from their porky pursuers at the infamous Hull House... where else would they go in a NIGHT OF THE DEMONS flick?! They find Angela here, of course, but pass her off as just some 30 year old chick who never grew out of Halloween and decide to take her hostage. Bad move. So, Angela decides to go along with it and play hostess, stirring up the paranoid kids, turning up the whole conflict idea, with the youngsters pointing guns at each other and bickering. Finally, Ange decides she's waited long enough, and after giving one guy's .45 Magnum an arousing blow job (and no, I'm not making an innuendo, she actually sucks off a revolver and spits out the bullets!), she proceeds to kiss the goon SPECIES style, sticking her tongue through his head. Form here, it turns into the kind of NIGHT OF THE DEMONS movie we all know and (some of us) love, as Ange takes turns seducing them and turning them into her demonic minions afterwards. Sure enough though, amongst the mild sex and toned down gore, a romance blossoms between Holly and Vince, and elsewhere the stereotypical "4 hours till retirement" cop is out looking for the kids, one last good deed before the retired life... or should I say, "before his life is retired". When he finds them, our two love birds are now the soul (haha) survivors of the whole sex fueled gore orgy, and he shows up just in time to save them from their EVIL DEAD escapee ex-friends. Ange offers to let the cop and Holly's new boyfriend go, provided Holly is willing to give Ange her virginal soul for the violating. The cop doesn't like the sound of this, so he tried to stop the demon bitch, getting a dis-HEART-ening response when Ange claims his life pump for her own! Open for opportunity though, and backed by the oncoming sunrise, Holly and Vinnie drag Ange over the underground stream that surrounds the house, which peals her apart and turns her to dust in a surprisingly well done gore FX scene! But, Holly, not being the kind of dedicated babe who lets things go unfinished, vows to return to Hull House every Halloween, in an attempt to prevent any more sequels. Then she and her new boyfriend walk off into the sunset, more than likely to make Holly's souls a little less virginal... Oddly enough, I found this to be a good sequel! Usually by the third installment, a series will be beyond repair, losing more and more from it's budget, until, by the 5th movie, they're shooting it on a Super 8 camera and selling it to local video stores in exchange for free rentals. But, like I said, I was pleasantly surprised by this movie! Well, don't get me wrong though, you can obviously tell the quality of the film is starting to diminish, along with some of the special FX, but the acting is surprisingly well done and the story's much better than your usual "group of horny drunk kids go to haunted house just to party" flick. Hmmm, maybe a fourth NIGHT OF THE DEMONS wouldn't be such a bad idea...

Sequels: so far this is the final installment of the NIGHT OF THE DEMONS series
