Okay, the cover to this movie quoted someone as saying, "the best movie since HELLRAISER", or something to that extent. As to why this person would make such a blatantly stupid and naive remark boggles my throbbing cranium! Where as HELLRAISER is a classic 11 on a scale of 1 - 10, this NIGHTSCARE thing is mediocre... at best! It features a newly relocated cop named Terry, who gets involved in a rash of mass suicide cases, including an old woman hanging herself and some guy "spontaneously" combusting. Terry gets involved with Stephanie (the shag-a-delic Elizabeth Hurley), and the 2 get pulled into some dream world created by a fucked up little asylum monkey named Gelman, or Gilian, or something equally as dorky. It's the result of some radical rehabilitation experiment gone wrong (isn't it always?). After alot of surreality, they beat the snot out o' the psycho and his corrupt minions, then impale him. There's some genuinely funny dark humor here, in spite of the fact the rest of the movie is confusing/ annoying/ just plain retarded. So, unless you've got some Elizabeth Hurley fetish, I wouldn't recommend this movie... Putting excrement in your VCR tends to fuck up the gears and shit. "Enjoy"...
