Offspring

(1987)

You know Vincent Price was hard up for money in his later years, because he made THIS abomination. A woman is convicted of a 30 year kill-fest, and sentenced to lethal injection. A reporter, eager for her story, searches out her uncle: a philosophical librarian played by Vincent Price. Instead of telling the reporter what she wants to know, he tells her 4 painfully boring and unentertaining stories (probably in the hopes that she'll kill herself from the annoyance factor). The first story has some potential, as it follows a middle-aged man who falls in "love" with this hot young "thang" at work. But, when she rejects his pathetic attempts at intimacy, he strangles her, dumps her in the road, then fucks her body before the funeral. 9 months later he kills his annoying sister, then gets killed by his illegitimate son, who crawls tooth and nail out of mommy and her grave. Not a bad story, but its IMPOSSIBLE that a child of any kind, freakish or otherwise, could've grown inside a corpse... oh well, next story. A con man is shot by some "customers", then wakes up in some bayou voodoo man's shack. Turns out voodoo man is over 200 years old, and the con wants his recipe for Eternal Life Tar-Tar. After attempting to drown him, voodoo man returns from his swampy grave, knocks out the con, ties him up, dismembers him, and burns him alive. Too bad for the con that voodoo man already gave him the potion... man, the next 70 years are gonna be Hell. Story 3 is about a sideshow glass eater who sold his soul to the sideshow's voodoo owner, and she doesn't like her freaks fucking around behind her back. So she does a little voodoo and razorblades tear his insides apart after he escapes. The voodoo woman then takes the guy's girlfriend as a replacement. On the plus side, this story had a midget in it... THAT'S THE FOURTH ONE THIS MONTH! A NEW RECORD! Finally, the last story is about a group of Union soldiers in the Civil War who are taken POW by some rebel children, and after he breaks free and kills a girl, they burn him alive and eat him. Other than a game of Pin-the-arm-on-the-Corpse, there was nothing special here either. Although I would like to know where those rebel kids got their hands on an American flag with 50 stars on it back then... Well, after that final story, the reporter (who's actually the niece's friend) stabs Uncle Vince in the throat. The End (couldn't have come soon enough!).
