Yes! THE movie that turned me onto horror as a way of life! THE epic, made by Stuart Gordon and Brian Yuzna, starring Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton, and based upon an HP Lovecraft story! RE-ANIMATOR is Combs's second horror flick (after FRIGHTMARE) and the movie that made him a cult-horror icon! It's too bad he hasn't reached mainstream stardom, but it's probably for the better. Anyway, for you unenlightened out there, RE-ANIMATOR is the story of Herbert West (Combs), a student at Miskatonic University and scientist exploring the possibilities of... well, re-animation, of course. He runs into trouble in the form of pressure from the dean of Miskatonic, as well as criticism by his teacher Dr. Hill (who later steals West's materials), and he's also got to put up with his roommate Dan and his HOT girlfriend Meg. Well, the dean is later reanimated and lobotomized, Hill gets his head chopped off by a shovel, and Meg is strangled by zombies. So, West's got no more problems, right? Wrong! Even more shit happens! Like what? Well, after Hill was decapitated, West reanimates his head AND body! Hill then responds by calling West a bastard, stealing his re-animating juice, and kidnapping Meg with a legion of his own lobotomized zombies! Hill's head is eventually crushed and West is strangled by Hill's over-stimulated large intestine! I tell you, this a weird (yet VERY good) movie, and well deserving of it's HUGE cult popularity, as is it's star, Mr. Combs! See it before your demise! That's an order!
