We are not beggars, we are believers! Ever found yourself on your knees begging God for something? Whether it be something like peace, joy, love, freedom or forgiveness? Have you ever thought that you have just wasted so much time begging God for something that is already yours? All those things are rightly ours when we accept Christ into our hearts as Lord and Savoir! But unless we know what is actually ours, we can wear ourselves out begging to God for something that is already ours. Something that God reveal to me a few months ago, is that freedom is already mine, if I choose to pick it , claim it as mine and start living in it. But He has just also shown me it is the same for all the gifts that He freely gives to us at the birth of our salvation! What is the point of begging for something that is already promised to us? It is like trying to get into a chair that you are already sitting in! It just wears you out and wastes your time! He HAS promised and freely given us so much, and yes, the devil is going to try and bombard our thinking, so that we continue to beg God for stuff. But the truth is that ‘God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly in Christ’ Notice it says HAS not will. He already HAS blessed us! This does not mean we are not to ask Him for anything, because the word says that we must ask and then receive. That is the thing though, we need to ask, not beg and then believe, make the decision to receive and start living in what He has given us!! The world has the idea that we need to see it to believe it, but Gods kingdom is the complete opposite, we need to believe it to see it. We need to believe in our hearts that He HAS blessed us with all the spiritual blessings that we may ever need or want and start living in it NOW!! |
