Growing up as a young person is not an easy time. The transission from teenager to adult hood holds its challengers. Especially when you are a Christian.
You will have so many decisions to make, ones that will have an impact on the rest of your life. There will be debates over relationships, either with your family or your partners. You may have worked hard your whole school life on your dream career and are now having to choose between it and God. Whatever the reason they will affect you for the rest of your life.
Having to decide whether to go totally for God of for your dream career; the career that you have worked hard for, for years, can be a very hard decision. You will have everyone on your back; it will be a big tug of war.
Your parents will want the best for you of course, they will want you to be successful in you chosen career, The career that they may have payed thousands of dollars in tuition fees, The career that you stressed over for weeks at exam time.
But then these a part of you and God, that wants you to do differently. Yes God wants the best for you.  Jeremiah 29:11 say, “For I have plans for you, says the Lord. Plans for good and not for bad, to give you a good future and a hope”. He knew the very plans for you life before you were even born.
As Christians we know Gods plan for our lives. It is to serve Him and bring the unsaved to Him, so that they might have life; to see the current prince of the world- Satan be beaten and for God to take His place. A lot of Christians hit a brick wall in their spiritual life when trying to find the answers to this question. But we know the answer. The real question should be what is it that is stopping us from fulfilling Gods plan in our life.
That question can be hard for young people. Deciding whether to fulfil Gods plan in their life, or to give into their own desires. It is hard and a lot of people choice to go their own way. As long as our plans are in line with Gods plans and they don’t contradict Gods word, we are right. “Show me the path where I should walk ‘O Lord: Paint out the right road for me to follow” Psalms 25:4. Seek God in what we do. No matter what the decision in our life is. Always seek Him.
Knowing the scriptures and gleaning their wisdom gives us more options in out decision-making and provides us with the discernment we need to make healthy choices. A right decision is one that is consistent with the principles of the truth found in Gods word. If only one of our options would please God, then that is the right one. If there are several options that are consistent with the word, then rather than that the decision itself, the most important thing may be the process of trusting God to help you make the most of the path you have chosen.
What ever your choices are, seek God. He knows! But remember, if the choices are there and they are in line with Gods word, you know what His answer will be. But what will yours be?
