I remember just recently 'milking my pain', feeding it and letting it grow into such huge proportion, that it seemed that 'ahh it is never going to go away, it will be with me forever'. I was just feeding it instead of facing it head on. Each time that I choice to embrace the pain and 'milk' it, the more my soul became entangled in it. What was I to do?
This is a question that so many people ask these days, with the crippling situations and circumstances that they are in, their hearts just cry for a place where they can call home, where the pain is no more and they can live a much healthier, happier productive life, cause there is no denying, that when your heart aches, it does not effect your everyday life. It cause such anxiety, stress, sickness, when your heart gets sick, it soon spreads further, until it reaches the rest of your physical body. It is like a cancer eating away at you, unless you seek treatment, it is going to literally destroy you.
Now Gods word promises us Life, that is what God wants to give us, Life and Life to the fullest. But what we soo want, is freedom... Liberty. I like the word Liberty, it has such a deeper and more powerful sound. It is what our hearts cry for, freedom and Liberty!! My soul cried out for so long for it, I sort after it from varies places and sources, but never really gained, if anything, I just made it worse. The ways that I thought would bring me some sort of freedom and liberty from my pain, were just feeding it even more, maybe at the time, it seems to give some sort of relief, but it was short lived and I soon seen myself deeper and further away from freedom.
Scripture says.... 'I have come that the captives may be set free.' That is the Lord speaking, and what ever it is that you are seeking freedom from, you are captive to it. You are caught in its power, entangled in it and not able to get away. You are a captive. But He has come that we may be set free!! And it is what Christ has done, He has set us free!! He came from the Heavens, preaching, healing, giving hope to the hopeless, ended up dying while being fully human and completerly divine. He dies so that we would not inherit the fate that we all deserve! What an awesome God, what a loving God. We all deserve it, but His love put Himself between us and what we deserve!! Would you not put yourself between you and your child, if it meant that they may live. That is how much you love your child, well, He loves us sooo much more than that!!! \o/ Hallelujah!! Thank You Lord \o/ He did all that for us, that we might become right with Him
In my somewhat short life so far, although it seems rather long, I have walked many paths, I have lived in depression, guilt, shame, sin defeat, regret and comdemnation, but I have also run laps of Victory and am living in it this day!! But I do remember that day that I made the decision, 'Ok, its time to open the doors'. Little did I know what I had exactly opened myself up to. Was I ready to face what layed ahead of me, and was I ready to face my past. Was there any 'light' or 'rainbows' at the end. Does it really lead to freedom?
To really experience freedom, you need to experience brokeness, defeat, anxiety and so on. When you accept Christ into your life, you recieve a pardon, just like an inmate on death row would. A person on death row, set free through a pardon, would feel like they have literally gone from death to life. And that is what happens when we accept Christ!!!! We were dead to Him, living in sin and darkness, but then going into His light and becoming alive in Him!!! Your eyes are opened to such light!! WeoohoooO!!! When you accept Him, He comes and lives in you, frees your heart and continues to live and work in you.
And He knows that in order for you to be truly free, you need to identify with Him. You may identify with something else, but in order for you to identify with that, you need to spend time doing it, whether it be spending time with your kids, hubby/wife, a sport or something. You need to spend time to identify with it. And it is the same with God, you need to spend time with Him to identify with Him.
So what is freedom? It is a choice!!! Its as simple, yet as hard as that!! He offers us true freedom, but we have to know Him and identify with Him to know that freedom!!! It is our choices and ours only, whether we decide to live as Christ would want us to, to abide in Him and walk with Him. Gods desires most for us to come to Him, to know Him and realise that He has already set us free when we accept Him!!!!
Galations 5:13 "For you have been called to live in freedom, not freedom to satisfy your evil nature, but freedom to serve one another in love"
God has given you more than Life and life to the fullest. He has not only given you a story, but a context and divine plan, from the beginning of time when He created Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, the freedom of your heart is what He created you for. So go to Him today, Turn your broken pieces of your life over to Him, so that He can heal them, make you whole, and give you what He soo designed you to be, TO BE FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WeeehooooooO!!!!
