Just want to share something that I heard tonight at our church outreach meeting. We had a visiting family from South Africa, and 2 members of that family shared a testimony. What they had to shared was mircale, and I praise God for that. But what I want to share with you all is the message that I got from their testimonies. I have been struggling with many parts in my walk with Christ...and tonight I heard 2 messages that have helped me so much. 1. No matter what cirumstance you may face in your life..God has a plan for you. Jeremiah 29:11 say 'For I know the plans I have for you, plan to prosper you, to give you hope and a good future'. Before the world began, God knew exactly what he had planned for our lives. He knew where we would be born, who our family would be, who we would marry, and where we would be at this very moment, He knows ALL about us. You grab a hand full of sand....how many grains of sand would be in that??? Alot huh! well imagine ALL the grains of sand in the world...that is much much God thought about you. That is how much He loves and cares for us. It is hard to comprehend how much God has thought and plannned our lives out to the very detail, but He has. 2. The devil can NOT live where the name of Jesus is! At the name of Jesus, he must flee us. What ever evil plan the enemy has against us, as long as we call on the name of Jesus, the enemy must flee and we will have victory over him. But we must remember that it is all in Gods timing, not ours. So when the enemy is out to kill and destroy you, call on the name of Jesus and he will flee, He can NOT live were Jesus lives. Whether it an illness, a fear, someone is attacking you, or just a silly lie the devil is saying to you. Repeat the name of Jesus over and over again. These 2 messages that I heard tonight have really meant alot to me, hope they bless you also. |
The devil was out to attack me this morning, not wanting me to go to church and recieve what the Lord had for me. I put him under my feet and took authority over him, and went to church! and I am so pleased that I did, as I was blessed so much by what was talked about. At church today, our visiting south African pastor preached more on this subject, and I so needed to hear what he had to say. The river of life, or also known as the Holy spirit, comes directly from the thrown of God. And what determines how the 'river of life' flows through us is the the banks of that river. The banks of the river of life, are the values we have of God. So if we have good values of God, the river/ or the Holy Spirit is going to flow deeply, freely and well in and through us. If our values of Him are not good, we are going to have shallow banks of that river and the Holy Spirit is not going to flow as good. An important value that we have of God is talked about in Jeremiah 29:11-14 "I say this because I know what I am planning for you, I have plans for you, not to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future. Then you will call my name. You will come to me and pray to me and I will listen to you. You will search for me, and when you search for me with all your heart, you will find me! I will let you find me, and I will bring you back from your captivity. I forced you to leave this place, but I will gather you from all the nations, from places i have sent you as captives, and I will bring you back to this place" Here again I see that I am being called to spend more time in prayer with God. It amazes me how much the Lord has spoken to me the last 2-3 weeks, but at time it takes alot for me to take what He is telling me to heart. I know the only anwser in my life is Jesus. I want to share a story that I heard today that really explained a very valuable point to me....There is a postion in a football team, i forget what it is called, but they are to pick the best player on the other team...and as soon as that person has the ball they are to attack..nudge him and stop him from passing the ball etc After a while, instead of concentrateing on the game and the ball, the best player, start to concentrate on the player that is attacking him..he watched for that player, waiting for him to attack.... We are exactly like that with our walk with christ.... when we are doing well in our walk, the devil is going to attack us, going to try and stop us from doing what we are doing...after a while, we take our eyes off the prize (Jesus) and we do as that player does and starts waiting for the devil to attack us.... We need to keep our eyes on Jesus at ALL times...it is there that we will have victory over life...and the enemy..we need to stop waiting for the devil to attack and concentrate on the race that is set before us. We need to keep our eyes on Jesus all the time, as soon as we take them off Him, and start constantly looking for the devil, it is then that we are going to get into trouble.....Which reminds me of a song, which i have sang over and over today and really poured my heart out to the Lord. Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full into His wonderful face, then the things on earth, will look strangly dim, in the light of His fullness and grace. The last week I have really struggled with my self-worth and how any good can come of my life after what I have been through as a child. The blessings the Lord has poured upon me the last few days have helped me so much \o/ Close your eyes, look to Jesus and imagine Him saying this to you, they are His words to you! "I say this because I know what I am planning for you, I have plans for you, not to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future. |
