You may feel that there are weapons that have been formed against you, and you are right, we live in a fallen world, you just gotta look around you to see it, and who at the moment is the ruler of this world? Of course, there are going to be weapons, events and such that are going to come against you, but understand… they shall NOT prosper!
I have said this many times, but it’s a given fact that we are not given a ‘pass’ to be exempt from wrong doing, hurt and difficult times, its life! Being a Christian does not mean life is going to be perfect. It might be a bit easier than a non-Christians life, but not perfect
I believe an important thing we can do to help make this life a little bit easier is to guard the soul of our endeavour. The soul consisting of a mind, will and an emotion. There are three things to remember….
KEEP THE MIND HEALTHY
Keep your mind and thinking constantly renewed. Don’t allow stinking thinking and incorrect attitudes to take root in your life. I have seen it almost destroy many people.. including myself. It can begin with such a small thing and just keep growing and growing until it becomes out of control. It eventually becomes a normal part of a persons life, they don’t consciously do it, it just happens.
Many a time, I have sat, I have had all I could ever want, I lived in a beautiful place, the skies have been blue, the air fresh, the physical has been perfect, but in the mind, it has been a rage…. In the natural it has been calm, but in the spiritual realm, it has been brewing a storm
I’m not sure if any of you a familiar with the Message Bible… but its good! And very simply! And there is a verse in Psalms that says ‘Give God your warmest smile’. On those days.. even if the naturals is not so nice, rise your head above the spiritual storms and give God a big cheesy smile J. Can you then imagine how the devil will feel after that??? Can you imagine him breaking out in a fit of rage, yelling, NO NO, you are not suppose to be smiling, you are suppose to be depressed, dismayed and discouraged! You are suppose to be throwing in the towel! You are not meant to be smiling!
DO SMILE!!!
We can liken this to a verse in Ephesians.. (Am using the Message Bible again), Eph 6:7 ’And work with a smile on your face, always keeping in mind that no matter who happens to be giving the orders, you're really serving God.' That no matter what we are facing, what we are going through, always work with a smile on your face. Not only giving God a big grin, but also the devil! Put him in his place!
I remember a family that I once worked for, they were farmers, and the area was going through a really dry patch, which can mean a lot to a farmer. It means loose and a lot of money. But, they always managed a smile. I often wondered how they did it and am pretty sure their smiles were pretty irritating to our adversary.
So, Live a life of resistance, ‘Resist the devil and he will flee from you’…and the Message Bible says ‘So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper.’ (James 4:6). Smile, irritate him and you will make that old devil crazy everytime!
KEEP THE WILL ALIVE!!
It is a simply truth that we should all have a will to live, a will to succeed and a will to serve! Your life, like anyone’s, should have a vision and a purpose that God wants you to achieve. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:9;15 how to achieve this. He tells us to pray to our Father in Heaven in such a way that we cant go wrong.. “thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven”
We need to keep the vision or will of God for our lives alive, come whatever! Even when all hell comes to try and destroy it, keep the dream, the vision and the will alive
Now, I know that the Lords prayers is not the be all and end all to prayer, there is much much more to prayer, but it is a model prayer, and it is something that we can pray to dedicate (or re-dedicate) our life to His greater purpose
Take on the attitude… I will stand firm in the WILL OF GOD… I will not surrender the WILL OF GOD… I will stay true to MY CALL
I really believe that no matter what, if you have a true love for God, and His greater purpose, you will always have the strength to stand!!
No matter who you are or what you do, allow the will of God to get you up in the morning and moving, cause there are people to see, places to go and a destiny to fill! Take Him literally on His word that says “His mercies are new every morning!” Let His mercies abound to you as you jump out of bed, dive into the shower, make yourself a delicious cuppa and yell HALLELUJAH!! This girl has got people to see, places to go and a destiny to fill.. TODAY!!!
KEEP THE EMOTIONAL STATE HEALTHY!
The joy of the Lord is my strength! It is a beautiful song and we should never let our circumstances determine anything! Who can deny that a spirit of thankfulness and a spirit of gladness can do wonders to the heart?? Stay on top! Stay Happy! Talk to your soul and demand be victorious and make it rejoice!! (preaching to myself here :S )
Being able to laugh and rejoice in the face of adversary does not mean that you are insensitive, it just means that you are able to rise up.. and quickly! You need to make the devil feel pretty pathetic in his attempts to sabotage Gods plans! We need to learn to live a life in such a way that the opposition realises that we will not easily be contained or defeated. What power we would have if we could all live a life like that! Hallelujah!
It may only be a small testimony to this, but its still a testimony considering that I am only just coming to a point in my walk where I have started to take a stand against the devil! But this time last year when preparing to go overseas, I knew that it was Gods will that I go, but financially I was not able. But it was Gods will and that meant it was His bill!! I believed and told the devil that I am going, He will make a way!
If you know its His will, stick to it!! And in my attitude.. “In your face devil, :P~~”…. Now.. If I was not a nice young girl (big grin :D) I could very well get away with the Clint Eastwood saying, “Go ahead …. Make my day!”
Never let your emotions lead you! Negotiate your journey well. Recognise and then overcome challenges when you face them! And learn to deal victoriously with anything seeking to sabotage your destiny, you have a BIG and beautiful life to live!!!
