| Meditate on these things.... What an interesting few days I have had! Many ups and downs, but God is sooo good.. and I am bubbling over at the moment lol Philippians 4:8,9 says... " Finally, brethrens, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praise worthy- meditate on these things. The things which you learned and recieved and heard and saw in me, these do and the God of peace will be with you." I read this today and thought hmm, that eliminates alot of things that I think about or meditate on! I am a person that worried alot! I am a person that dwells on the bad stuff, on how rough life can be, on the past... on the future! .....On things that are not praise worthy! Something that I have personally been struggling alot with the last few days, and also in the past, is that it is so often much easier to live a life where I am down all the time, where I dwell on stuff and well, think badly of the 'good' plans that God has for my life... where I am just so negative about life. Where even though you know in your head that it is not normal to live a life like that, its really the only 'normal' life that you have known. And it takes so much effort, strenght, discipline to change the way that you think and live. But that verse in Philippians clearly tells us to not think on those things, they are not good! they are not productive and they are certainly not praise worthy!!! I think the second part of that scripture.... I just read it again and it really hit me! When I personally... meditate or entertain bad thoughts... or things that are not praise worthy, that is when I feel the furthurest from God!! But when I meditate on good things, on the Word, on Him.... Oh!!! the presense of Him is soo awesome!! I know I have said this before, but all it takes is a simple.. yet hard decision to want to change! To want to meditate on good things! And we gotta not let life and its circumstances come between us and that! However hard that can be!! Just want to encourage all of you. Dont let the enemy rob you of your Joy!! Dont dwell on the things that are not praise worthy! If it does not give honor or glory to Him... it sure aint worth it!! |
