Site Diary

***June 5th, 2009***
I think I've finished transferring the files over to the new site. The "My houses" link is called "Downloads" over there, because that is exactly what the page is. It's not just houses, there's also some art in there. And the manual, and the Art Deco font (but they were always there). Well, this is it, until Geocities shut me down. Farewell, Gliders! I'll see you at my new place!

Well, it's certainly been awhile since an update. I was checking my email, and had received one from Stuff Stuff. They're making a gaming website, and asked if we could do a site exchange. I thought "why not?". So I came here to add them to my links (On Da Line), and found out that Geocities plan on closing all their free web services later this year. So, I am now in the process of moving my files over to Bravenet. The new address is http://gliderpro.bravehost.com/index.html. That's my new home. I think the wakeup.to/gliderpro link is still working, but for now it's directing people here. The new site is still the same, with broken links, and I've removed the "Hosted by Yahoo" banner. No point in displaying that when they're deleting their services!

I've been working on a few different houses. I started making some new ones. I went through all my old CD's with the various Glider PRO files, and found about 30-something houses that I'd been working on. This is going to take awhile. I finished a Christmas Moving Van file, but I haven't uploaded it yet. Need to compress it and get it off the old G3 and onto the eMac. Though the G3 should be able to hook up to the internet... Hmm, something to work on. But with Christmas so close, there are many other things I should be doing. You know, the usual Christmas stuff. Check out the Downloads section for some older versions of this site. Very primitive stuff...

After receiving a few emails from the Glider Group, I decided that I wanted to get back into house building. So I pulled out the old Mac, and my Glider CD's, and started installing. Wow, I didn't realise that I had so many houses that I was building. I started a new one, but then found another dozen that I'd been working on before I gave it up for the Sims. Whoa, man. I started playing Slumberland and discovered that I suck. Maybe it's true that this game is intended for younger people. Older people just can't play. Lol. Or maybe it's because I haven't played in a few years. Well, practice makes perfect. I'll be working on the houses for awhile before I can upload them, but there ARE uploads coming! Thank you for your patience!
Oh, I was also going to upload the "Christmas in Lumberland" splash screen, since Christmas is next week... Wasn't quite sure how to transfer the files from opposite rooms from an OS9 computer to an Intel OSX computer. Hmm....

Just had a week on the beach with no technology. Well, it was fun, despite the fact that it rained every day. Today I've added the Yahoo! button, because they're my sponser, as well as Bravenet, but they got the main page. I want to add a guestbook here, but I don't think it would do so well. Glider PRO's slowly dying off and becoming extinct, which is sad. It used to be pumping. Ha, that's funny. Glider PRO pumping? Anyways, this pafe of the site was so that my main page wasn't so cluttered. And no one really want to read this stuff, so I hid it away. Enjoy:)

Thank you to everyone who has visited this site. I've just discovered that 9,924 people have visited this site since November 2005. That may not sound like much, but this is by far the most successful site I have, so I'm proud of that. 10 people have visited so far today, which sounds amazing because I thought Glider PRO was dead. The only emails I get from The Glider Group are spam, so I I assumed it had been disbanded, too, like Penguin's Club. So thank you for visiting, one day I will add some more houses here, I just have to get the old Blueberry iMac working and hooked up to the net again.

I was playing around with the links and if you visited today, then you would have seen how messy it looked. So instead of having the link images in the navigation bar, I put in a site survey. I'd be most thankful if you let me know what you think of this site. I know I should add some more houses, but that requires MAKING more houses, and this beaut mac doesn't haven't classic on it. Bummer, huh? I'd use the old iMac in the garage, but it's so primitive. lol

***June 18th, 2007***
I finally added the Moving Van application. It can be found under "My Houses". Sorry that it took so long, I didn't have Aladdin DropStuff for the longest time. Now I just need to get back into house building. If only I had a classic computer to work with...

So I googled Glider Pro to see where my little site ranks in the scheme of things, and it's 15th for the "found" page, and 34th if you're looking for the wakeup.to/gliderpro page. Whoa. That's kind of bad. I'm sure it used to be in the top 10. This sucks, man. Is this because I never come here to update? It's only because the game's lost it's touch. I outgrew it.
