10/14/02 Down 71.6 POUNDS!

I have had a problem with my weight as long as I can remember. I was a chubby baby, a chunky kid, and a fat adolescent.

When I was a freshman in high school I was wearing a size 18 pants, woke up one morning and they were too tight. I had no idea how to diet and my parents loved feeding me. I fasted for several days and then barely ate anything after that. The weight came off fast and before I knew it I was a size 12 and strutting my stuff. To make a long story short, when I was 17 I had gallbladder surgery.

Any ways, my weight has always been up and down, more up than down.

In '95 I got back down to a size 14 and got remarried in 1996. Before I knew it the weight was piling back on. I did the Slimfast thing and lost a few and gained it back, prescription diet pills, lost a few and through the pills away and gave up. I figure this is how I am this is how I will stay. I had creeped up to a size 18 and then bam, a 22.

A former coworker had mentioned WW to me, but hey...I wasn't worried about my weight. Then I started hearing how people were losing weight and thought what the heck I will give it a shot.

I attended my 1st WW meeting on 3/7/02, and officially started my journey on 3/8/02.
I had no idea how much I weighed when I stepped up on the scale at the meeting. I figured around 200-210lbs. Boy was I in shock when I weighed in at a whopping 240.6!!!!! That is when I realized I had a serious weight problem and it was time to get serious. I got serious, but I figured it would be something very short lived. You know, lose a few lbs and then gradually go back to my old ways. Well, I have lost those few lbs and then some, and here I am still chugg'n away with the program.

Weight Watchers is the best thing that has ever happen to me. I realize that this is a life long journey to a healthy lifestyle and not a diet. I will have a few layovers here and there and even backtrack a few times, but as long as I stay focused and aware I will make it and maintain it.

To date I have lost 91.6 lbs and I am 8.4 from my WW goal.

I am a WW for life and will never be fat again!!!!!!
