The ceremony will take place on the deck at the end of the Cottonwood Trail. The trail goes through a small section of old growth forest and the deck circles and truly massive tree. The deck is a very short walk from the Day's Dam entrance to the park and is wheelchair accessible. We're planning to use this location unless the weather is really nasty, so be prepared to get a bit damp. In the event of torrential downpour, hail, or other meteorological orneriness we will move the ceremony under the pavilion where the reception is going to be held.

Kathleen Rolenz, the pastor of the West Shore Unitarian Universalist fellowship in Rocky River is going to be officiating.

Following the ceremony we will move to the other end of the park for the reception. The Bur Oak picnic area is a scenic three to three and a half mile walk through the park. Sights along the way include a waterfall trail, some wetlands, several river overlooks, a bridge crossing over the river and some old railway bridges. You can also drive around to the other park entrance.

Please be sure that you are dressed comfortably and appropriately for the weather. Asking anyone to wear a tux outside in August would be just plain cruel, not to mention that you would be far more formally dressed than the brides. We'll be wearing something along the lines of really swanky sundresses.

You can see maps, pictures, the weather forecast and more information about the park on the Lorain County Metro Parks website.
