Keelar and Hope

Seeing as how the first two times you decided to wander aimlessly in the Hathian Dens and found something, you theorize that your luck must be good today and start walking again. The path you follow cuts through the white trees, growing narrower and narrower the farther you get. You notice that it heads back the way you came, only at a different angle, and soon you're walking up hill. This time, though, the slender, white branches of the trees are low enough to catch on your shirt and face, scratching you with the paper thin edges of their silvery leaves. After a few minutes of this, you begin to wonder if whatever's up this way is really worth it. You're literally dancing over the ground now, trying not to crush the abundance of water roses growing in this area. In fact, as you pause to catch your breath, you notice that the sunlight which had once poured down on your head had been reduced to a thin, fimly trickle through the thickening foliage.

Vines hang from the trees like furry snakes, their thick ends dangling inches above your head. Unseen creatures hoot and squawk somewhere in the distance, sometimes disturbing the rose bushes all around you. The light that does trickle through the dense, silver leaves catches on the water roses and spills onto the ground in a hazy, aqua pattern that moves with the constant rhythm of actual water. The air here is heavier, and you find yourself sucking in lungful after lungful in an attempt to cool down after the long hike.

~I suppose you're here to see the eggs?~ A disembodied male voice echoes inside your head. You jump and whirl around, and keep whirling without once catching sight of the speaker.

~Over here, moron.~ Ah, there's familiarity in that condescending tone. Hope, Mystic's draca, hisses at you from a branch just behind your head. Turning around, you look up at her with the infinite idiocy of all lost travellers. She sighs, rolls her eyes, and looks pleadingly at the dark brown and purple draca sitting beside her. ~Do we really have to show them, Keelar? I mean, just look at this one. I think it was a big mistake to suggest sending them out again.~

~We need to extend our territory. There simply aren't enough of us left.~ The male replies, unfolding his wings and crouching down in a prepatory pose. Before you know it, he's launched himself into the air and soared off through the thick of the trees. ~Follow me.~ He calls back.

You do, and soon you find yourself thrust into a clearing only large enough for yourself and a small, woven nest hanging between two trees. Hope lands just inside the nest as you peer in, and Keelar sits on one of the support branches with an eerie stillness.

~Now listen up, traveller.~ Hope snaps as she curls around her clutch. ~I don't give my children out to just anyone you know. You have to have at least a little intelligence, though I'm probably wasting my breath asking for it. Here's what you have to know, listen and listen well because I'm not repeating myself.

~Draca come in any colour you can imagine. I give them names at birth, and you'd better well stick to calling them that. It's easy enough to idenify between the two genders if you've got eyes in that silly looking head of yours. The females have crests, and the males have spikes. Don't screw it up.

~Draca don't talk from birth. They have to learn it like most intelligent species. We're not pets, we're familiars. A companion that will keep your sorry butt out of trouble most of the time. We can breathe fire, and do whenever we feel like it.~ This threat is followed up by a faint flick of the blue and pink draca's tongue. You smile weakly, hoping that she doesn't decide to demonstrate this unique skill.

~Finally,~ Hope continues, ~not all of my children will be in their shells when you travellers come looking for them. Some are already hatched, and some are even full grown. You got a problem with that, then you can turn around and leave right now.~ When you fail to do as instructed, the irritable creature sighs and motions reluctantly to a notebook swinging from a vine to your right. ~Fine, fine. Sign your name and address in the book then come over here. My children pick for themselves if they want to go home with travellers or not.~

There are 2 draca available and no eggs.

Rules for bonding a draca:
1. You must have a homepage.
2. On the page where you'll put your draca, have a link back to here (http://www.oocities.org/hathian_dragons).
3. Please treat these creatures with the utmost of care. A draca is very sensitive and can mood swing with the best of them. They'll take off if they feel they're being mistreated or ignored.
4. Only ask for one draca egg at a time. I doubt Hope will let you take more then that.
5. You can apply for more then one clutch, but one draca per person. They tend to get very protective of whoever they bond to. If you want to start a family of your own, e-mail me first.
6. When you send in your request, pick a number between one and ten. That will be your egg.
7. If there are no eggs but hatched draca, then please state the name of the draca you're applying for. Remember that it's first come, first serve unless the page is below par.
8. If you have a colour you'd like me to do your draca in (other than your favourites), please list it in your comments when you send the e-mail.
9. One more note, please be patient with me. Draca are custom coloured creatures, so they may take a while to finish.
10. Mail the below information to: Mystic Dragon
