Graveyards conjure a variety of emotions in people, ranging from sadness to fear. Often at night, the mere site of a cemetery is enough to frighten people, while others enjoy the overall creepiness that it conveys and the solitude and longing for eternal rest strikes a chord with others. Still some regard them as necessary resting places for their daperted loved ones.
Everything within, from the moss covered stones to the deafening sound of silent oblivion is an attraction to those like us that seek that which remains elusive and hidden from plain view.
Perhaps the ghosts that are occasionally seen are just echoes of individuals that once occupied the same space , long since past. Or, they could be the manifestations of a disembodied spirit, restless and hurting; wanting to feel again the contact of warm flesh and since they are eternally denied this desire, they wanto take from us what we have and take for granted.
Maybe they are nothing but the yield of a fertile imagination after being sown with the seeds of the mystery of the dark places that many of us dread.
