Auburn is a destination for car collectors, aviation history and genealogy buffs, and an ideal place to spend a family vacation.  From classic cars and beautiful art deco showrooms in the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum to an extensive collection of aviation history at the Hoosier Air Museum and military hardware at the World War II Victory Museum or the significant collections in the National Automotive & Truck Museum, visitors can hardly believe the number or attractions that exist.

In 1956, a group of owners of the Auburns, Cords, and Duesenbergs formed a car club and came to Auburn for a one-time gathering.  The "reunion" was so successful, they decided to make it an annual event over the Labor Day weekend.  Today, the ACD Festival is one of Indiana's largest tourist attractions.

Many years ago when I was writing newspaper columns for the local newspaper, I described Auburn "as a dancing lady" all gussied up for the annual Labor Day Auburn Cord Duesenberg parade and festival.  The director of the Chamber of Commerce said it captured the spirit of the town, so when I put together a souvenir/history/guidebook about Auburn, I entitled the book Auburn Is A Dancing Lady.

Whether it's art or architecture, shopping or sightseeing, aviation history or classic cars that you like, Auburn Is A Dancing Lady features interesting tidbits and stories you will want to read.  The book includes a chapter about area attractions worth visiting and one about Hoosier opinions.

If you've visited Auburn, plan to visit Auburn, or just like reading about Auburn's history, people, places, and historic buildings, you'll want a copy of Auburn Is A Dancing Lady.  For less than a good bottle of wine, the book makes a fabulous gift, perfect for house guests, tour groups, exchange students, club speakers, retirements, graduations, and class reunions.

The book features 33 stunning photographs and has 73 pages.
