I'm not sure that I'll be able to write another episode in the few days left for my stay in Finland. In this update I will post some texts that I've sent to the UAE. But before that, Babo, I don't know what could I do without you! remember when you told me to confirm my bookings? Today I was checking KLM website and noticed that my flight number does not exist at the 29th of May, I went ot a travel agency to make sure of that, to find that " yes, the flight was cancelled and changed to another time!" , I will try to do something about this tomorow. But imagin if I went to the airport at theat day, very happy ofcourse, and then found the flight has gone! it was going to be moseeba! Babo, 7abeeb 3omri, o taj rasi, thanks a lot! Now let's get into business.. This is a part of a report that I was asked to write for the sake of being displyed by the media in the UAE: ------ I am not sure about my colleagues in other training sites, but I think I am in a unique situation here. Being an internship student for the polytechnic of Vaasa, and doing my work in the well equiped Technobothnia research centre, which is a place of dreams for those who seeks technical engineering experience. And finally, doing a project for the power generation giant ABB. It was such a career environment that had essentially left its extremely beneficial effect on me. I had to adapt with working under direction of my supervisors in the school as well as in ABB. I had also to develop good work relations every place I go. Being self-motivated and innovative are very nessecary to survive this very competetive work environment. Not to mention punctuality and dicipline in workplace. My work was focusing on optimising the performance of ABB's wind turbine generators. ABB has informed me that in case if the project succeeded, they will try to implement it in the rest of their generators which utilise other types of cooling units. When I was assigned a task to work on, I often needed to review some concepts that I have learned previously in the university, for tasks that requires me to gain new knowledges, I had to visit the library and search the web. It was really exciting how I was trying to translate my theoretical knowledge into skills required to fulfil job tasks. Achieving results that are better than what is required as well as delivering alternatives to my design, I think I made a good job. In the morning of the day when I presented my work in front of ABB Motors' director Jouni Ikaheimo, My very active supervisor Dr. Menani told me that he was wondering why UAEU students make a lot of presentations? I've answered: Today you will see why! And after a, thanks God, successful presentation. Menani has approved my performance and told me that this would be the key for other students from the UAEU to come and continue the good work. Based on the tasks I have completed, and with the new skills and experiences that I have obtained, I can now specify which is more useful and which is more important from my studies. I could plan better for my future. And finally, I can say that I have discovered some hidden abilities in myself that were not to see the light without being put in such a unique work environment. Thanks UAEU, for putting me in the light. ------ This is the acknowledgement of my report that I'm going to submit to the UAEU.. ------ Thanks to the UAE University for rewarding me with this great chance to have my industrial training abroad. Thanks to my teachers who gave me the support and advice, specially the head to Industrial Training Office, Dr. Abdulla Al-Amiri for his interest and care, and keeping in contact while I am in Finland. My thanks are also to Vaasa Polytechnic for making everything available to me, from the apartment ( thanks to international office and VAMOC ) to the technical facilities ( thanks to Technobothnia staff). A very special thank you is to the man who was behind it all, Dr. Smail Menani. I would also thank ABB Motors staff, Dr. Jouni Ikaheimo and Dr. Jere for allowing me to participate in the project of optimising the performance of ABB's generators. Thanks again for providing time, money and facilities to push my efforts to its maximum limits. I will not forget to thank the muslim community in Vaasa who have wormly welcomed me and were a true family for me during the four months I have stayed in Finland. Furthermore, I am thankful to everybody who helped me in any way during my training period. ------ And this is a part of the conclusion of my report that I'm going to submit to the UAEU.. ------ Fulfilling ABB's project, obtaining the required skills of carrying on a future career, gaining new knowledges and most importantly, surviving four months thousands of miles away from home depending on nobody but myself, I think I could never do better! ... Away from technical stuff, this was my first trip to Europe and alone. My first chance to discover how self-dependent can I become, and how responsible should I be, not just in work but also out of work. It was a great experience, and I hope I can repeat it again. Praise to Allah who protected me from any kind of harm, and thanks to the special people who supported me and where in my heart all the time. ------ That was enough. If I didn't write again, then consider this the final episode of Haytham's in Finland and 3ogbal Haytham fi Gazza! shooo! mish 3ajbak 3'azza walaaaaa! walla bathrobak bhathal shaft ( I've drawn this in the final of the 3D simulation course) Bye(bye meen!)) C ya(yeah, that's better!) Do that EVERY TIME you read my update, please ? and I will enjoy reading it. Thurs, May the 8th update: ( Finish People episode 3 ) Hehi every one ( a Finnish Greeting!), I promised you before to write something about Finnish xxx life. But I thought and said, why not making this bigger!! ( Heyya nagsa!!) how!? Let's make it.. Finnish People 3: sex, drugs and religion! (hallaloya!!) Before going deep, I want to tell you first that I'll do my best so this page can still be shown on Ettisalat proxy server!! If you smell what HM3:16 is cookin'!! Sex: eat this, this 6 million people population country has a percentage of more than 75% females!! and this is really horrifying!! you can find this easily when walking in the streets. Women here must, and I mean must, take part in all jobs or country will never go on. Ofcourse women more than men is natural in all the world, but not like this! The result of few marrieges, and people migrating to other countries. One day this country will be consisting from foreigners that are married to Finnish girls and thats all. And speaking about foreigners, and most of them are supposed to be muslims, but you never see any of them in the mousqe!( Oh, I'm waiting for next Friday to see how many person will be in the mosque, after the muslim students have gone to Helsinky. I doubt that we'll be 5 people or less including the Imam!!!) Foreigners are invading this country, while it's orignial people are leaving or decreasing, it's really interesting to see what's gonna happen 20 or 30 years from now!! Hey, I thought we were talkin about sex? I've just wanted to say that foreigners, including muslims, has, proudly, became part of Finnish life, nigh life, xxx life!! in all what this word could mean!! So what would women do when there is no men?! I7im I7im, imm, balash ya shabab, walla a7keelko, Allaho a3lam, ba3rafsh sho besawwo!! And to make things worse, the president of Finland is supporting the marriage of gays!! instead of supporting normal marreige and making families to increase the population of his country!! ( Allah la ybarkilko fi baladko! Ro7o allah la yroddko!) One Somalian guy was married to a Finnish girl. His father and mother in law (his wife parents) has invited him and his wife to their home. When they arrived they shouted on them " we are waiting for you in the Sauna" then when the guy went there he found his father and mother in law waiting for him ..Naked!! without the need of completing the story, Sauna is the main tradition in Finand. A sauna in every home, ok no problem, but everybody in the sauna naked who ever you are ( evern if there is a foreign guest!!), and what ever your age is!! that's not OK. Even if you get there wearing your short or panty, they will ask you to take it off and to respect their tradition!! How did I know? my friend told me what happened to him and .. Hey!! what do you mean by this question!!? Remember when I told you that I've been to a cottege party. They were planing to go to Sauna there, but it was down( not working) and the boys and the girls where so upset. I didn't know why at that time coz I didn't have these info, but after that I discovered how Allah has secured me that day without I know! Al7amdulillah!! Drugs: Wallahi i7na 3aysheen fe na3eem. Non.Smokers here are very very rare. You always find a group of girls smoking outside a building ( I think it's generally prohibbited to smoke indoors here). And if you think it's just about ceggarites, then that's would be fine to some extent. But there are also drugs and I mean 7asheesh and othe types of drugs. Imagin, no I'll say this in other way, eat this again: they use qat here!! yes, you've read the correct spelling: Q-A-T: Qat!! don't tell me Arabs brought it! no not true. ILomoseeba inno elbanat use these things more than men!! and so, most of the people, in addition to the holy drink: bear!! use drugs and ciggarites.( Allah la ybarkilko kaman marra, golo ameen!!) Religion: Balash tankeet, religion meen ya 3am, roo7 i7lig!! Most of the people here are, on paper, followers of the Lotharic Church, but in practice, Ethiests( mol7ideen!!). The rest are followers of small relegious groups in additions to muslims and .. "knock knock knock!" "who is it?" "It's the end of days" "get the hell out you noizy Jehova Witness!!" (With my apology to Nich, if he was reading this!, probably from the Jail!! I'm really sorry for you my friend!!) I hope I've managed not to go so far! If you think some sentences should be removed, please tell me on mail or in the guest book. Before ending, I wrote this short poetry and I hope you like it: I looked through my window, Lying on my bed. Spring flowers, From almost every colour, starting to grow. No more white colour, No ice, no snow. It's just the colours, of the trees and the flowers: the green, the yellow, the pink, and the red. and tha'ts how allah gives examples to the people: "bringing out the live from the dead" I love you all, Haytham If you have any notes on this update please email me on haythamwahab@msn.com or just sign my guest book GUEST BOOK IN THE TOP OF THE PAGE and tell me what ever you like to say ! Wed, May the 1st update: ( Labours Day update ) Hello people, this is not supposed to be a big update, so, let's get into business! I've used this site during the previous three moths to communicate with my family and Friends while I'm here in Finland. At least for me, it was a great idea, and it really meant a lot for me. Sometimes, reading your signs in my guest book, I really feel I'm between you. I don't know why nobody thought about this before, but you don't really feel it until you're in it! Now let's get serious, this communication is still essential and indeed, it's really in need, even if that Dambo has came back from Finalnd. Haytham's e-diary will no longer be suitable for such things, and even this whole site is not the place for such things ( oh, no you won't increase your traffic by keeping bringing us back to your site!) What to do then? For not only my friends, but all who wants from the UAEU students, we can still in communication through http://communities.msn.com/ShababelUAEU The invitation emails were already sent, and everybody is supposed to subscribe, so if you did'nt, then what the heck are you waiting for!? Everybody else from outside the university is also invited! For my family members, I think that everything was clear through mail, and butbut vs. kaki is always opened for you! Talking about ButBut Vs. Kaki, I've got a special members only update in the occasion of the labour day(3eed el3ommal) so, If you aren't my family member then don't go anywhere!! and continue readying this update! If you are a member of my family, then go to ButBut Vs. Kaki, but don't forget ot continue this update! I went today to the town square center ( kiskosta centrum!) where a carnaval was held in the occasion of the Labour Day. The celebration actually have started Yesterday, were people were gathering at the evening around a statue waiting for a speach. I was wondering what an important speech that all these people are waiting to hear!? until a woman with a very short skirt has finally came! She climbed the statue ( oh, now I've got an answer!!) and put a white hat on the head of the statue and gave the speach. How she get down was another story.. but forget about it! Every body has put a white hat on his head, they get these hats when they graduate from school. And now, we have reached the real reason of all these fake stupid celebrations, people started drinking, drinking and drinking( I think I've told you about this before). It was dangerous to walk out yesterday, coz everybody and I mean everybody was drunk! Even today, my friends told me to be careful if I wana go out! OK, never mind, it will be like having some action! (Oh, it wont be funny at all when a drunk a** hole take a big glass of bear and smash it down on your head!). I've spent a lot of money on some bullsh*t, but I've attended a live hard rock performance and it was coooooooooooooooooooooooool! OK, that's it for today! see you also on mail, Messanger, Shabab el UAEU. My family, you know where to find me! take care everybody, and shiddo 7ilko fil emti7anat! Bye, Haytham If you have any notes on this update please email me on haythamwahab@msn.com or just sign my guest book GUEST BOOK IN THE TOP OF THE PAGE and tell me what ever you like to say !
