The Secret Garden is one of the most beloved children's books of all time and has been the inspiration for a feature film, a television miniseries and a Broadway musical. Written by Frances Hodgson Burnette, it is the unforgettable story of two children who find healing and friendship in a magical forgotten garden on the haunting Yorkshire moors.

Mary and Colin are two young people whose natures have been badly warped, but thrive when they discover that selflessness opens a secret door to happiness.Both are spoiled, self-centered children who have been pampered all of their lives. Both have been overindulged and terribly deprived at the same time - Overindulged with  material goods,but deprived of caring. Selfish and self-centered, their lives are changed through the influences of Martha and Dickon Sowerby.
