The Social Worker is available to
patients and families with Huntington's Disease
to provide support services and education.
The social worker works with both the Huntington's
Disease Center For Excellence
as well as Huntington's Disease Society of America.
While working with the Center Excellence, the social
worker is able to offer social work support to families
and patients who come to the clinic. Follow up
support with these families and patients is available in
terms of emotional support, i.e.short term individual or
family counseling, community resources, and assistance in
accessing services needed. The social worker is available
on the Rocky Mountain Chapter Support line and will
answer and respond to all calls for support and
information Monday through Friday 8:00A.M. to 5:00P.M..
There are monthly support groups which are facilitated by
the social worker in Englewood, CO. the 4th
Wednesday of the month from 7:00 to 9:00 at the Johnson
Adult Day Center, 344 South Emerson. Those, from
out of town are welcome to attend
when you are in the area.
While working with the Huntington's Disease Society of
America, the social worker provides information,
education and consultations to other support group
facilitators in the Rocky Mountain Chapter. She
works closely with the chapter President, National Field
Representative, and National Family Services to support
chapter services as needed. Provides updated information
for National and Local newsletter mailing lists.
Contributes to the Local newsletter and participates in
Huntington Disease related educational programs,
conferences and meetings.
