In following the direction that I have been given I have come to believe that my purpose for being here is to teach those who come to be taught. I have fulfilled the role in many different ways: individual talk therapy sessions; crisis intervention with domestic violence and sexual assault; seminars on dealing with divorce; workshops on native american spirituality; presentations in high schools regarding sexual violence in relationships; community organizing, (specifically organizing a coalition / task force in the among the agencies in the community dealing with the same clients); board member of the statewide coalition against sexual assault(WCASA), chairperson of their education committee, participant in their strategic planning, with a focus on serving communities of color (specifically native american); and doing training workshops at WCASA's training institutes.
