BJ's Beef Jerky

Belinda Clausen

You can't make this jerky while the kids are around because you simply can't make it as fast as they want to eat it! This is teenager food extraordinaire.

Ingredients

About 4 pounds of steak (no fat)

Marinade

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt (for curing)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons liquid smoke
  • 1 teaspoon pepper (or better yet, use a black and red pepper blend)
  • 2 tablespoons tabasco (more or less to your liking)

Directions

  1. Slice the steak across the grain into thin strips (each strip should be about a quarter inch thick)
  2. Marinate the steak slices at least over night, up to several days if you can.
  3. Place the steak strips into a dehydrator until thoroughly dry.
