Arcadian Shepherd's Pie

We got this recipe from a Yankee Church Supper Cookbook about eight years ago.

It takes a little work, but it's worth it!


Ingredients


    1. Brown the beef and saute the onions in butter until golden.
    2. Mix meat with onions, catsup, Worcestershire, salt and pepper.
    3. Add a little beef stock and cook, covered, over low heat for 15-20 minutes.
    4. Beat egg yolks until light, beat egg whites until stiff.
    5. Beat yolks, cream, butter, and garlic powder into mashed potatoes.
    6. Gently fold in beaten egg whites.
    7. Put meat mixutre into casserole dish and top with potatoes.
    8. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and bake at 350 degrees F until puffed and browned.

Serves 6-8.
