Genealogy and Homeschooling can go well together! We are studying Early American History this year. Several of our ancestors fought the Indians and many were in the Revolutionary War. We went on a field trip to Fort Witten part of the Crab Orchard musuem in Tazewell, VA. Click here to see pictures and read a little about our trip. Knowing your ancestors where THERE and something about them or what they did makes the study of history much more exciting- especially when you're using biographies and historical novels instead of textbooks!
