INTRODUCTION

I guess that every living person has the desire to know where they come from and also what forces and events have made them who and what they are.

The desire to find answers to these questions is answered by genealogical research, expanded to include some family history research.

If one considers for a moment that who and what we are today, is the result of all the nameless, faceless individuals who comprise our own personal ancestors. If our maternal great grandmother had died in infancy or had married someone other than our maternal great grandfather, you or I would not be here today.

In most instances, very few of us even knows the names of our grand parents, let alone our great grand-parents or their parents, grandparents or great grandparents.

Tracing ones roots answers this most basic of questions, "Where do I come from?"

This is the question that set me off on the quest to discover my roots and these pages are the result of my efforts to date.

I trust that these pages will prove to be interesting to you and that they may inspire you to start researching your own family.

If on the other hand, you have done some research of your own and discover that we are related in some way, I would love to hear from you, particularly if we can share additional information to expand out own knowledge.
