Shri
Jalaram Anna Kshetra project
The Pran Pratishtha
ceremony of Jalaram Mandir took place on the 22nd,
23rd and 24th
January 1999. In keeping with Pujya Shri Jalaram Bapas seva
to mankind in the form of prashad, the Anna Kshetra project was
launched on Thursday 28th January 1999
with the prime aim of providing food to the needy - "Narayan
Seva"
Every Thursday morning
at two selected places, break-fast is served by the sincere
organisers of Shri Jalaram Seva Mandal. In the afternoon, lunch
is served at Jalaram Anna Kshetra. Every Sunday afternoon, food
is distributed to various ashrams & slum areas. In the
ensuing 11 months up to the end of 1999., 25,000 people had been
provided with food. During the first half of the year 2000
another 28,000 people have benefited from the Anna Kshetra
Project.
Due to space and other
limitations at Jalaram Bhavan, it was decided that another
property needed to be acquired for this special project of
"ANNA DANAM" and, with Bapas blessings, this
became possible. On 1st Jan 2000 a plot
of 5000 sq feet was purchased opposite Jalaram Bhavan. A
temporary shed has been constructed there for organising this
poor feeding scheme. Proposals have been put forward for
constructing a permanent structure for dining hall, kitchen and
various other facilities as and when funds are generated.
To cover the cost of
the above project we have launched the following schemes :-
(i) Bhumi Daatas:- Land cost to be generated from
100 donors to be enrolled as "Bhumi Daatas" who
are requested to contribute Rs.51,000 each. As of 30th
June 2000, 65 such donors have already confirmed their
participation and we are awaiting more confirmations.
(ii) "Anna Dan Fund" :- The amount received towards
this scheme is being put in fixed deposit and the interest earned
every year will be utilized for "Narayan Seva" (Poor
Feeding)".
(iii) Building Fund :- General Donations &
Income from Jalaram Bhavan will be accumulated for the future
Permanent Construction.
There has been
tremendous support for this activity from India and abroad and,
with Pujya Shri Jalaram Bapas Blessings, we are sure that
this will continue getting even better.
