Happy Birthday
The Sensational Miss State Queens had their Birthday
Party in July at Jordan Lake. It was a BEAUTIFUL day for the girls to have some
"fun in the sun."
Thanks to Jeff Knox, the girls got to ride in a BOAT!! They even went tubbing through the lake...talk about FUN! Jason and Allison won the award for being able to "stay on the tube the longest!"
Some of the girls just chose to play in the "shallow water"...and play it safe! Lindsay amazed everyone with her unstoppable swimming skills...and Rebekah got to play in the sand until one of the "big girls" took her in the water. By the end of the day, ALL of the girls were pretty "water-logged!"
But, of course, the girls had to sit through a meeting FIRST...where they talked about their plans for the upcoming year. They've already decided to do the Raleigh Christmas Parade and Azalea Festival Parade....along with all of the other service projects they have planned for this year. The queens able to attend were: Rebekah Furr, Lindsay Knox, Becky Loska, Allison Matthews, Lesley Summerlin, and Chajavia McKinnion.
Many Thanks go to Jeff Knox for bringing the boat and inner tube, to Jason Wirth for keeping the girls company on the inner tube, to Dave Walters and Dwight Phillips for cooking...YUMMY, and to all of our SENSATIONAL moms for supplying the side items and desserts! What a fun day!
Even Sensational Miss Queens Wanna Have Fun SOMETIMES!!!
In August, the Second Annual Sensational Miss Family Day was held, even though rain and thunderstorms threatened our fun...AGAIN! Thanks to Doreen and Becky Loska, who planned our entire day, Sensational Miss Queens, OLD AND NEW, got together at Pullen Park in Raleigh for a picnic and social! Beth Knox announced all of the information for our second Miss America Trip, and all the girls got to ride the train around the park while the parents "chit-chated" on all the latest news. All and all, the girls got to have a nice, relaxing day without having to worry about make-up and curlers...because you know, GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN!

When you are lucky, the Germans say "Du hast Schwein gehabt!'--you have had pig. The saying dates back to hard times, when having a pig to eat meant you were fortunate in deed.
Now you can bring good luck to yourself with a Glucksschwein. When good luck comes, you'll know it's because you had pig!
