The Ribbons Of Hope Campaign For Missing and Abused Children
Please display the ribbons of hope everywhere!
One of God's most precious gifts is the blessing of a child. They are so sweet, pure, innocent, and their love
is unconditional. So how could someone abuse them? And how can we can stand by and do nothing?
Imagine growing up afraid. Imagine growing up believing you cannot achieve your dreams. Imagine not growing up at all. More than 3 million cases of child abuse and neglect were reported last year. Three children each day die from abuse or neglect. How many of these kids are in your community? In your local school? On your street? Help us create a world without child abuse.
There are millions of desperate and lonely tears shed by the children who,day after day and night after night, silently endure the pain inflicted on them by their heartless abusers. Most of these abusers are their very own parents or caregivers and occur right in the childs home. It's a horrifying disease that is plaguing more and more children every day. It has to end somewhere, but it had to begin with you! Please help us end child abuse. If you suspect a child is being abused, call your local authorities and report it.
What is child abuse? Child abuse can be physical beatings, sexual or emotional cruelty. The most obvious kinds of abuse are physical beating and sexual abuse but emotional abuse is so damaging.
Physical abuse beatings, starving, physical neglect and sexual abuse are cruel and vicious crimes.
Emotional abuse can be deliberate, subconscious or both. It is the systematic diminishment of another person. Love and respect are the birth right of every one of our children to deprive them of this is emotional abuse. I'm sure we have all been in a public place and cringed when we have heard an adult tell a child such things as "You're so stupid" or "You're good for nothing" or "Can't you do anything right?". Emotional abuse leaves deep scars also that a child will carry with them through their adultlife. No one should tell a child they are worthless and cannot reach their dreams.
Abused children can follow a life pattern of being abused believing this is what they deserve in life, that is their own fault, it is not. Abuse can lead to substance abuse, alcohol and or drugs and a life time or treatment for the symptoms and not the cause.
How often people know a child is being abused physically or emotionally and say it is not their business, they cannot and will not get involved. It is your business, it is everyone's business to love and protect the children. Please don't turn your back on this serious issue. It has to END somewhere, but it has to begin with YOU!
Here are some cases of child abuse, these are all true stories.
In a little house somewhere in the foothills of Tennessee, on her knees, she prayed - "God, give me a healthy child" - and less than 12 months after Aaron was born, his fragile little body lay limp on the living room floor as a belt came crashing down, blow after endless blow. He was delivered to an Emergency Department by ambulance - Dead On Arrival - bloody, battered and bruised both inside and out. A victim of violent child abuse; now an angel living without fear on the playgrounds of heaven.
Somewhere in South Carolina; a male child, age 4, is left unattended playing in the front yard, manages to get into his mother's car and knocks it out of gear. The car began to roll, apparently down an incline as it was moving at a fairly rapid rate of speed at the time the "accident" occurred. The child inside, screaming, managed to fall out of the moving vehicle and was run over by same said automobile. After hours in the Emergency Department, having undergone a CAT scan of the brain, having been intubated, and having had his chest cut for tube placement; an angelic little boy lay in pain with severe head injuries, spinal cord injuries, urinary retention and severe organ damage.
The Mother?
Inside the house talking on the telephone. The child was Life-Flighted to the nearest Pediatric Trauma Facility where he survived in said condition for less than 48 hours and at 0231 hours on the morning of 02 October 1997, another angel was delivered into the hands of God.
Here are some more innocent children that were delivered into the hands of God. These are all actual cases of a child dying because of child abuse.
Little James was just 3 years old when he was beaten to death by his father. His father beat him because little James was making too much noise while his father was watching a football game.
Little Keith was just 3 years old when he was beaten to death by his grandmother. He had been living with her because his mother was ill. This little boy was beaten with electrical cords, burned with cigarettes, and was starved. At the time of his death he only weighed 28 pounds. The day he died his grandmother beat him with a cutting board and repeatedly threw him down to the floor, because she caught him going in the pantry trying to get food. After she beat him, she left him laying there on the floor and went to bed. The next day his little body was still laying there motionless, she walked over to him, examined his body and said to her 11 year old daughter I think he's dead. She left his body laying there for a full day before calling 911.
Little Lisa was just 6 years old when she died. She was beaten to death by her illegally adoptive father. The autopsy results showed that little Lisa had numerous bruises and died of a cerebral hemorrhage.
Baby Boy Drexler, 6lbs.6 oz., as soon as he was born he was murdered by his mother. He was born while she was at her prom. She gave birth to him in the bathroom, then returned to the dance floor and ate a salad. A janitor found his little body in the trash. An autopsy concluded he was strangled or suffocated.
Little Brandi was only 1 month old, when her father smashed her head against a desk, because she was not a boy.
Dustin, 8 years old and Brandy, 4 years old were both found in the back seat of their mothers car. Both children had a gun shot wound to their head.
