BBC Education Everyone who knows me knows how English I am, so I just had to include this - it is a really useful tool for teachers.
Auto English   No, not a driving school, auto as in automatic. This is a study site, but again, there are great ideas for teachers here.
Anagrams   This is just for fun. Amaze your students with witty anagrams of their names, hometowns, whatever. A cool site for sure
Awesome Library   Not specifically aimed at ESL/EFL teachers or students, contains a myriad of lesson plans that are well worth looking at.
Creative Teaching   No, not a contradiction in terms, but a site with "Articles, Ideas, and Information for Creative Teaching". Good - and fun.
Advanced English DEAD LINK
Common Errors In English Do ESL/EFL learners need to speak 'correctly'? No, but we do, if we want to maintain credibility...
ABCheckers DEAD LINK
Clip Art         Literally hundreds of drawn images, meant to be used freely by teachers, and pictures can only help, especially with beginners.
CASLT    Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers. Great site with great links - and material for other languages too - go see.

Emile Dodd's Page   Photocopiable lesson plans, conversation worksheets, plus some fun stuff for teachers and students alike, worth a look.
ELT Journal         A newsletter for teachers, updated weekly. It contains a forum for discussing ideas, teaching tips, and lesson plans.

esl about Go here. This is quite simply one of the best sites available -  in my opinion.
Collective Nouns   How often have you been asked "what's the name for a group of ******" ? Exactly. I like this one.
Dave's esl cafe Teachers' and student material, quizzes, games, lessons, links - well. What this HASN'T got, you probably don't need
English Studies What the Americans call "quaint". Doesn't have a lot, but pleasant to look at and clearly set out. Have a look.
A4esl Quiz Page   One of the Internet TESL Journal pages, this one has bi-lingual quizzes, write-a-quiz-guide for teachers, take a look.
ESL Games - Linked to Dave's esl cafe, and I think the name pretty much says it all really.
Everything ESL   "Featuring 48 lesson plans 28 teaching tips, 156 downloadable activities, 451 discussion topics, and 59 resource picks"
Education Planet   You need to register to use this site, but if you can be bothered, it's not too bad at all
English Gone Awry - "A site devoted to the correct use of the English language". If only everyone was (were?) so inclined. I love it.
English Baby!         I think this is a "hip", "with it", dare I say it - young - way of looking at things. Gawd, I feel old enough thank you
English-At-Home   This looks really good. I mean it looks good, and I think that content wise it is going to be a good one. As Above, WTS
Ernie's Activity Page   Not a lot but I like it. Games and activities to liven things up when it goes all dull and dark - you ever get those days?
Developing Listening Skills Teachers teaching teachers how. We all need help every now and then. Click the link and see what I mean
Better English If the title doesn't say it, I can't. With over 250 exercises to choose from, one of my and my colleague Susan's favourite sites
Phil's ESL/EFL Resource Pages

Links to thousands of ESL teacher resource pages and EFL resources available on the web today. Lesson plans, advice for teachers, forums, discussion sites, all-in-ones, you name it and it's here. There is a vast amount of ESL/EFL material available on the www,  with more sites being posted every day - and whether you are a teacher or student, I hope these links provide you with some useful material.

Some of the sites contain lesson plans for teachers. Some contain online exercises for students. Some contain resources for both.

The sites are listed alphabetically, but if it gets too long (and I hope it does!) then I will categorise it. For now it's as simple as ABC.
