Before a breeding can be approved, this contract must be read and signed.

Breeding Contract

Steps for breeding
All breeding requests must be sent to the office. Each breeding request must contain:
  • Stallion to be bred to
  • Mare to be used, her webpage, and (if not on the page) her MR number, breed, and sire x dam.
  • Intended use for the foal

The request will be considered and the mare owner will be notified accordingly.
If the request is approved, the owner will need to read and submit the signed contract and the payment within one week*.
After the contract and fees are submitted, the owner will again be notified of approval and may go ahead with the breeding.
* Exceptions can be made for special circumstances, as long as we are notified upfront at the time of the original request.

Terms
The above steps must be followed when requesting a breeding.
All fees must be submitted with the signed contract, no exceptions.
We must recieve a page for the foal within one week after birth.
The foal must be sent in for registration immediately at birth.
The foal's color must be genetically possible.
We reserve buyback rights on any foal bred from one of our stallions.
If the foal is for sale and we do not want to purchase it at the time, it may be sold on the condition that we retain buyback rights from the new owner. The new owner must be alerted of the terms of this contract.
If the foal is being neglected, mistreated, or is not actively showing, the owner will be notified. If the situation does not change within the month, the horse will be reclaimed.
The foal may be speedaged according to the available years for both the mare and the stallion. Speedage requests must be approved before they can be applied.
The foal must remain active in HF and may not be exported.

I, (name) of (farm name), have read this contract and agree to abide by the terms stated above. Enclosed is my check for the fees required. (date)
