![]() Welcome to my office. This is where most of the behind the scenes work takes place regarding the farm, and I think I spend the same amount of time in here every day that I spend out in the arena working! Basically everything happens in here save for actually working the horses. Well, except for that one incident...but let's not go there. As I'm sure you'll find out during the course of your time in here, it is the hub of activity at HSF. People are routinely coming and going, which gets a bit aggravating at times, but one gets used to it I suppose. Hidden Star Farm has been in operation since the fall of 2006. Since we first began as a mini-barn operating out of Starlight Stables, many changes have taken place. Perhaps the largest change has been our relocation. Now operating out of an area on the North Shore of Massachusetts, we have had quite a change of scenary! Coming back to this area is something I have wanted to do for a while, and I'm glad this property became available. The activity level has increased along with the amount of property we have. Not only are we working on the horses, but we also have 200 acres of hay field to maintain as well! Growing our own hay does cut out that large expense of buying from somewhere else, though there is a lot of labor involved, but it also enables us to be confident about the quality that our horses are recieving. # Sport Horses:
Horses aged 2 and under fall under "Youngstock" and are not included in the discipline totals. With the growth of our herd, we are doing a lot of updating regarding discipline tallies, titles, etc! Stay tuned and we'll get it!
Due to our move and getting settled still, we are currently not offering boarding, training to outside horses, or lessons. In the future, we are looking to expand into those areas, particularly starting lessons again, but there is just too much going on to keep us busy right now! We do have some positions available for pay, including seasonal such as working the fields and year-round positions in the barns. If you are interested, please send along a message to Lin. We have a few positions available for working students. The working student positions require a set amount of work, both on and off of the horses, in exchange for lessons and the lease of one of our horses. These positions are for mostly intermediate/advanced riders due to the horses we have and the work level involved. On occasion, we have accepted beginners, so it doesn't hurt to check, but the beginners will have a lot more work to catch up to the level we expect our riders to be at. For the right person, it can be a great opportunity and a fast track to success, but it is not for everyone.
This list is subject to change, as we tend to scope out shows in advance. As shows become available, our entries/shows attending may be amended. The changes may not be reflected here.
Documents
If you need to submit a document to us, such as a contract, you can find them all here. Don't worry, the pile is
organized! Our sales and lease contracts are not up on the site, as we haven't had the time to upload the file. Rest
assured that if needed, you will recieve one from us!
