Majesty and Royalty magazines first began publication in 1981, probably in response to the tremendous amount of public interest in the royal family due to the engagement of Prince Charles to Lady Diana Spencer. Published monthly, these colorful, glossy magazines are largely devoted to current events in the British royal family, so they are an additional resource for stories about royal tours, especially since their articles are usually written by reporters who accompanied the tours and lavishly illustrated with excellent color photos that are hard to find elsewhere.
Although published in London,
both magazines are widely sold overseas in the US, Canada, and Australia,
and subscriptions are also available. Back issues can be purchased from
both publishers, though many early issues from the 1980s have been sold
out, and can now be found
only on ebay.
The articles listed below were
found in my collection of both magazines, which is far from complete, so
this is not a comprehensive listing of all available stories on royal tours
