The Dalriada Scottish Dancers were formed in 1997 in Timmins, Ontario, Canada by their Instructor, Marnie Ferguson-Lapierre. The Dancers study the traditional dances of Scotland using the B.A.T.D. method. The Dalriada Scottish Dancers perform at local and Northern Community events, as well as compete in various competitions and Highland Games. The Dalriada Scottish Dancers also perform occasionally with the Timmins Police Pipes and Drums.
The Dalriada Scottish Dancers meet weekly and receive lessons from Ms. Ferguson-Lapierre. Performing and competing is not compulsory, but dancers are encouraged to complete medal testing on a yearly basis. Emphasis is placed on having fun, learning, and team-work.
Lessons are now offered in Iroquois Falls as well as Timmins! |
