Duo was on Colony L2 watching news about OZ. He made a comment--"That's B.S."-- and was overheard by a soldier of OZ whom said he was wrong and they were fighting for the Colonies. She was a German, about Duo's age *I'm guessing around 15 or 16*, short blue hair and blue eyes, and said her name was Hilde Schbeiker. Hilde told Duo about the Alliance having a training test for new recruits. When Hilde tells him new recruits are to be sent to the Moon Base, Duo gets interested. That is where he wanted to go in the first place. Heh.
Duo tries to get one of the Leo's and almost gets away with it, but Hilde recognizes him. He gets into the Leo and gets into space but Hilde is on his tail the whole time. She tells him she is fighting for the colonies, so he doesn't want to kill her. This makes him end up getting captured. Later, Hilde questions him on their way to the Moon Base, where he was to be interrogated. He gives a long speech about how he is fighting for the colonies, she has it wrong, and she shouldn't be involved.
While in the shuttle to the base, Duo, of course, escapes. Go figure.. Hilde knew it was him, and right when he was about to get the last blow, she saves him. Hilde helps him get into the Base and says "I know who my true enemy is now" and blows the doors of the Moon Base off. She holds off some Mobile Suits while Duo gets in.
I'm guessing Hilde got in big trouble for helping what the Oz dudes call "the enemy" and was probably releived of her place as a soldier. I think she went back to her house on L2 and later Duo joined up with her.
Duo and Hilde's Relationship...
Duo and Hilde's relationship starts off pretty badly. She's an OZ soldier, captures him, then helps him, and they end up livin' togethter! ^.~ So I think they are much more than just a Brother/ Sister type relationship. Well, look. They live together and you can tell they like each other, ne?
The GW episodes never said what happened after episode 23 when they first met. You just see them living together on L2. Hilde likes Duo (Don't you notice?) but I wasn't sure about Duo liking her as much at first until...
Later, when Duo had to use the ZERO System, and thought he destroyed his home colony and Hilde along with it, he was pretty freaked. I think it's then when he notices how he really feels about her.
Almost to the end of the series, Duo tells her he has to leave and fight again, and Hilde says she can go to, and become a soldier with White Fang. He tells her they can't trust White Fang. So Hilde agrees to stay behind... well, for a little while. Heehee *Duo! Don't trust a stubborn girl!*
In episode 45 Hilde sneaks aboard Libra *told you not to trust her~* and steals data on the ship. She's one kick ass computer hacker!! =^.^= Although, she doesn't get away easily. Mercurious and Vayate mobile suits follow her and beat her up pretty badly. Duh, of course Duo saves her just in time. I think this panics him *Look at his face* He yells at her and calls her a "damn idiot" for even thinking about coming out here. Hilde doesn't flinch about this. She just says "I thought you'd say that." Later you see her getting wheeled away on a stretcher. After that you don't see her until the credits of Endless Waltz, when Duo comes back to his home after the fighting.
