The Hispanic Folkloric Ballet is proud of its children's group. The children's group has had numerous performances in Virginia and North Carolina. In 1997, they had an onstage performance with Los Lobos during "Cinco de Mayo". In 2000, they performed in Norfolk's Town Point Park during Opsail 2000. They have appeared on local television and have performed at various organizations and universities including James Madison University, Old Dominion University and the Chrysler Museum. The dancers range from 5-11 years of age. Beatriz Amberman feels that "One the best gifts you can give your children is to teach them their heritage." |
