Chapter 7 "Do you want us to take anything home for you?" Sarah called "No, I'm putting everything in the car," Sam searched the crowds for the person she needed to find, hoping to see him before any of her family descended on her. He was leaning on the goal post, waiting for her. He told her earlier to meet him there; there was something he needed to do. Sam walked up to him. "Hi, Robert. What did you need?" "Hi, Sam. I didn't need anything, but there's something I need to do. I've wanted to do this since we were in middle school," Robert said, wrapping his arms around her waist, pulling her close. His mouth slowly descended, capturing her lips in a passion filled kiss. Sarah, Bri, and the guys watched from a distance. JC stared at the two of them, a jealous rage filling his heart and mind. Why, he didn't know. No, you do to know, a voice whispered in his head. You wish you were the one kissing her. After a minute, Robert pulled away from Sam. "I've wanted to do that since we were in sixth grade. Hope you don't mind." Sam blinked, then laughed. "Not to much. But I'm not asking why you waited this long to kiss me." Robert laughed. "Long story. would you like to go out with me?" "I can't sorry." Sam smiled at him. "I'm going to be busy for the next week." "If I had asked you earlier, would you have said yes?" "Yep." Robert faked a sigh. "What awful timing." They both laughed. Sam hugged him, told him "Congratulations," and walked away. Her parents, godparents, grandparents and other relatives descended on her, hugging her, telling her congratulations, and taking pictures. At ten, she found Destiny and Lillian and they headed for the buses that were taking them to Disneyland, making a detour to Sam's car to drop off their graduation caps and gowns, and to pick up jackets and their purses. They got back from Disneyland at four in the morning. Sam dropped Destiny and Lillian off at Destiny's house, then went home. Sara and Bri were both sleeping. Sam walked to her bedroom, washed her face, put on pj's and collapsed on her bed. She was asleep the minute her head hit the pillow. At eight, JC woke up to knocking on his door. Thinking it was on of the guys wanting to bug him he yanked open the door, intent on telling them to leave him alone and let him sleep. "Hello, darling," Lesley purred, dropping her bags so she could wrap her arms around his neck. "Miss me?" "Lesley," JC said, somewhat in shock "What are you doing here?" "I missed you. Don't I get a kiss hello?" Lesley tilted her face towards his. her crystalline blue eyes wide her dark blonde hair followed over her shoulders in perfect waves. JC leaned down and kissed her quickly, then pulled her arms away from his neck and picked up her bags. He carried them in his room, Lesley following. She closed the door behind her. "Are you happy to see me?" she asked JC, sitting on the bed. "Of course," JC replied, sitting next to her. "I missed you. " That was only a partial lie. When he'd thought about her, he'd missed her. He'd met her three years ago, at a party thown by MTV. She was a model who'd appeared on many of the shows. They'd started dating six months later. Lesley ran her hand up his arm. "Do you have anything planned for today, and tonight?" "Nope, I was just going to sit around the hotel room, work out, maybe go see Sarah and Bri. Sam's probably still sleeping, and she's going out with Justin tonight. "They'd make a cute couple," Lesley said. She turned JC's face towards hers. "I know what I'd like to do." She smiled, then pulled JC's head down. "I don't mind doing that," JC said, a few minutes later, as he pulled away and started killing her neck. Lesley giggled. They fell across the bed..... Lesley stared at JC as he slept, an hour later. When are you going to propose? she thought. She didn't love him, but he was one of the richest men she'd ever dated, and his career was flourishing, so he wouldn't have to worry about money in the future. Lesley curled up next to him, trying to sleep. She'd had a feeling that he was going to propose soon and had come out to this small town in California to make sure he didn't change his mind. She didn't want him to suddenly notice anyother women, especially Sam, who was extremely beautiful, and dump her. Lesley wanted JC, and more importanly, his money. Justin called Sam at one. She'd woken up thirty minutes ago and had already had one pot of coffee so she was semi-human. She wouldn't be fully human until later that day, and after another two pots of coffee. Sam was a night owl, hated the day and was caffine dependent. It lessened the raging headaches she got everyday. "Are we still going out tonight?" Justin asked. "Yes. Where are we going?" Sam replied. "I couldn't decide between the French restaurant Sarah said you like, or the Chinese place Brianna recommended." Justin told her, "You decide." "How about we go to the French restaurant tonight, then tomorrow, we bring Chinese to the aptarment, or your hotel room, where ever we can talk." "That sounds good," Justin said. " I was going to ask if you wanted to go to the place you didn't name tomorrow, anyways. So we could talk, get to know eachother." Sam laughed. " Well, I beat you to it. What time?" "Does eight sound okay?" "Yeah, that sounds good. I have time to soak my feet." "Did all that walking in heels kill them?" "No,If they were dead, they wouldn't hurt this badly. It hurts to even wiggle my toes." Justin laughed. "Shouldn't have worn heels then." "Shut up, Justin. See you tonight." "Laters, babe." Chris and Lance came over at two. Sam, Sarah, and Bri had gone swimming, so the guys let themselves in, to wait for the girls to get back. Sarah and Bri came back at three; Sam stayed out for another hour. When she cam back in, Sarah, Bri, Chris, and Lance had left to go see a movie. Sam laid down until six-thirty, then got up to get ready for her date. Justin knocked on the door at seven forty-five. Their reservations were for eight and he wanted to get there early. Sam and Justin spent most of the time talking. As they sat at the table after dinner telling each other stories about their lives, Justin watched Sam. He'd just goten done telling a story about what'd happened to him last summer, after he got off tour, and they were both laughing. But there seemed to be a meloncholic air to Sam; Justin sensed her laugh wasn't entirely true. And the sparkle that usually brightened her beautiful green eyes wasn't there. |
