Codeine is a pain relieving drug that targets the cell receptors in your Central Nervous System and spinal cord. These receptors in turn provide immediate pain relief.
Codeine is the most widely used narcotic for medicinal purposes. Codeine is found in tablet form, liquid form and as an injection.  Codeine is used as a pain killer, fever reducer and a relaxant.
Codeine can be extracted for the popular narcotic, morphine. If you were to compare the strengths of morphine and codeine you would find that if morphine was 1 then codeine would be .15, bearing the percentage that morphine is about 7% codeine. Morphine has a 1:.15 ratio with codeine.
