MADAMA BUTTERFLY By Henning Hoholt, Kulturkompasset As a final celebration concert for the Vilnius City Days, this year a concert version of Madama Butterfly was performed, and were viewed by a very large audience, spite in that it was being cold for the audience and the participating orchestra, chorus and soloists, and a long performance. During the baton of the conductor Jonas Aleksa, we had a wonderful evening. The title role was in the best hands by the guesting soprano Tatjana Anisimova, who had all the valeurs and nuances and the big power, there is a much as Madama Butterfly. She had it all. Beside her a wonderful and powerfull Virgilijus Noreika, as Pinkerton. Ligita Rackauskait? did Suzuki splendid. Sharpless was sung by the very god barytone Vytautas Juozapaitis. Goro was the excellent young tenor Kestutis Alciauskas. It was the first class orchestra and chorus from The Lithuanian National Opera who was taking care of the enchanting music and choire parties. A good light design accompaigned the concert. hoeholthus@c2i.net, Henning Hoholt The Lithuanian National Opera |
