| Background Hogar Emanuel is a non-profit organization. One of the founding fathers is Chet Thomas (current vice-president of the Board), and the home was developed through funding of the International Christian Aid, Inc. Their address is: 115 Spring Rd., Suite 3 Hollsopple, PA 15935-7412 Telephone 814-479-7963 Fax: 814-479-2521 International Christian Inc. has supplied for this Home for over 25 years now; it has been through the faithful and permanent contribution of the people of the church of Philadelphia and I.C.A. ( Mr. John Blough, president), that the Hogar Emanuel was built (on the property donated by Coca-Cola), and that so many children have had the opportunity to live comfortably and know God's love and presence in their lives through out all these years. Many groups of Work and Testimony have traveled to Honduras and built the Home; the rooms, kitchen, bathrooms, library, school area, etc. We have had support from local companies and local people too, donating mattresses, supplies, food. Hogar Emanuel is legally established in our country, and complies with all the requirements and all the responsabilities demanded for legal custody of the children by the Honduran institues; INHFA (Instituto Hondureņo de la Familia) and the Juzgado de Menores. We can only provide for children who are legally entrusted to us through one of these institutes. |
